This mod is dedicated to my little cousin who just passed away. He was a really good kid.

This mod should work well with other troop mods (like B.A.R.D.), as long as those mods don't change aserai troops. Compatible with RBM as long as my mod is loaded after RBM in the launcher. Just in case, place this mod at the very bottom of your mod load order.

Added new units: Hashashin, Desert Skimisher, Desert Javelineer, Elite Javelineer. Updated Bedouin tree to add more distinct options for Camel Archers and Lancers. Updated unit names for accuracy: Mubarizun -> Mubariz, Rukban -> Rakib. Updated helmet for the Migwar Rakib (noble t6).

- RUKBAN / RAKIB
 - Rukban/Rakib, or "the riders", the elite Camel Corps. The new Rakib troops are a noble troop option that are camel-mounted riders.

Upgrade from t1 recruit -> (t2) Bedouin Nomad -> (t3) Bedouin Caravan Guard -> (t4/t5) Bedouin Camel Archer & Elite Camel Archer, or (t4/t5) Bedouin Lancer & Bedouin Heavy Lancer

BEDOUIN NOMAD
 - Accustomed to harsh desert conditions, these bedouin nomads are hardy and resourceful.

BEDOUIN CARAVAN GUARD
 - Every caravan needs guards, and what better guards for desert caravans than hardy Bedouins who know the land? This is a light camel-mounted skimisher unit.

CAMEL ARCHERS
 -Bedouin Camel Archer & Elite Camel Archer: Mounted archer units with high mobility. Camel archers historically would use camels' superior movement in the desert to outmaneuver enemy, dismount, fire volleys of arrows, then reposition once again on camel-back.

CAMEL LANCERS
 -Bedouin Lancer and Bedouin Heavy Lancer: Camel-mounted lancer units. Horses find the scent of camels unnerving, leading camels to be used against cavalry to great affect.

ASERAI GHAZI
 - Based off the fierce warriors historically partaking in ghazw (military expeditions) in Arabia and beyond.

ASERAI MUBARIZ
 - Based upon the Mubarizun ("Duelists", or "Champions") forming a special unit of the Rashidun army, tasked with the purpose of engaging enemy champions in single combat. Historically in Arab, Byzantine, and Sassanian warfare, battles usually began with duels between the champion warriors of the opposing armies.After the conclusion of the dueling phase, the army would launch its general advance
       
Full Disclosure - these Ghazi and Mubariz units have been repurposed from Armies of Calradia Aserai mod, last updated on NexusMods 2 years ago. Full credit to ithrian for these units, and many thanks to him for the hours of enjoyment that mod gave me in the past :) His mod with the original Ghazi and Mubarizun units can be found here.

New Skimisher line & Hashashin units (update Nov. 18, 2022):

SKIRMISHERS & JAVELINEERS
It was a bit odd that the Aserai had no javelin skimisher infantry in their lineup. Tier 3, 4 and 5 skimisher/Javelineer units have been added in this mod, in addition to a flavor unit, the Hashashin (tier 5).

HASHASHIN BACKGROUND
Historically the Hashashin were a secretive order, renown and feared for their dedication to the art of assassination. Fun fact, the english word "assassin" comes from "hashashin". You technically wouldn't have seen them on the battlefield... but this is a game and I love the aesthetic. Also, this new unit is just an option. Feel free to ignore it and upgrade to the tier 5 Elite Javelineer instead of Hashashin, if that's your preference.

HASHASHIN WEAPONS
In this mod the Hashashin are equipped with a new custom weapon: Hashashin Throwing Blades. Very deadly in medium-range throwing distance, however archers outrange them and can cause trouble. Hashashin throwing blade's damage/effectiveness drops off significantly as distance increases. They are also fearsome in close combat; these Hashashin will use blunt maces so that they have higher chance of taking prisoners for... um... "questioning".

PLANNED UPDATES

I like the state of the mod so far, but do have plans for the future. Future updates will include updated units and reskins starting with Archers and the noble Faris line, with Mamluke and other infantry updates coming afterwards.

IMPORTANT

This mod is designed for maximum compatibility. This mod has no dependencies or requirements, however I highly recommended using this mod alongside the Improved Camels Mod. Improved Camels mod is not required, but will make your new camel troops more effective and your playthrough more enjoyable :)

MOD COMPATIBILITY / MOD NOT WORKING?

This mod should be compatible with other troop mods, as long as those mods don't change Aserai Army troops. Compatible with RBM as long as my mod is loaded after RBM in the launcher. Just in case, place the mod at the very bottom of your load order.

SAVE GAME COMPATIBILITY

Due to how new troop trees and new items work, you can enable this mod in an existing vanilla playthrough. However if you disable the mod later and have modded troops in game (whether in your party or an AI party), the game will crash. Therefore it is highly recommended to create a backup save just before activating this mod, so if you ever want to resume your playthrough WITHOUT using this mod, you will have a save file that will work without the mod.
