Have some ideas? Leave a message and we will discuss them.

    Suggestions ToDo list:
    - (by many people) deal with adding a mod to the Steam Workshop.
    - (by Dhaeron) implement a second set of refining recipes to give shortcuts to higher tier materials (I.e. have one that is the normal 2 iron + coal = steel + crude iron, but also add a second one that's 1 crude iron + 7 coal = steel).
    - (by Sevydos) when working on an order, colored the current weapon stats when crafting according to whether or not they meet the requirements for the order.
    - (by Sevydos) add button that allows the current setup to be set as the comparision base line, the values would then show up the same way as they do on a crafting order (current value / comparision), thereby making it much easier to see the differences.
    - (by Sevydos) add filter for the hero selection using smithing skill, so that only companions with, for example, smithing skill over 10 are shown.
    - (by MtFuji0315) add option to lists all saved designs, not by selected type.
    - (by ROMMORROMsmithing screen UI improvements
    - (by Marcolino748) not show the weapons/gear which are locked on the inventory when we smelt weapons

May I ask if this is compatible with BannerKings?

Hello. Thank you for the great mod.
I am concerned that the "Value" displayed in the UI is always in English and not translatable in the Languages translation file. Is it possible to make this part of the UI translatable for non-English speaking users?

hi,I‘’am a chinese player .first, i want to say your mod is great .It's one of my favorite mods.I have same suggestions to you.😀
1、After the forging is completed, equip the weapon directly to start trial, and you can choose the enemy and number to fight against. In order to test the weapon.
    How about this suggestion?😀

Sounds interesting, but I'm afraid that it will be hard for me to implement a such feature.

A suggestions thread, nice!  Would you be so kind as to add this to the Steam Workshop?  If it's already there I'm sorry I missed it, I searched for better smithing but couldn't find it.  Being able to generally just get updates as they come out instead of having to check a nexus page to see if there's been any news on the mod is an incredibly useful feature.  Regardless, thank you for the consideration and hope you have a lovely day.

+1 to this request. I'm playing the game via GeForce Now, so the Steam Workshop is the only way for mods for me. Thanks in advance.

Can you move your item roster element check into its own function for the SmeltingItemRosterWrapper class's PerformFullRefresh function? This way, I can make sure that BannerCraft is fully compatible with Better Smithing Continued.

In e1.8 I had a mod (or the game did it by itself?) which, when working on an order, colored the current weapon stats when crafting according to whether or not they meet the requirements for the order. This was incredibly helpful, but sadly I cannot remember where this feature came from, I was using Enhanced Smithing besides Better Smithing Continued, but looking through its code I cannot find any place where such feature is implemented and the mod is not updated currently (and I can't figure out for the life of me how those text displays are generated, otherwise I'd have made a patch for it myself...).

Either way, it would be a really nice QoL feature to have in this mod!

I underlined the values manually, using the color I would love to see them colored in instead:
    https://i.imgur.com/FNjEf0N.png

    ---

It would also be great to have a "compare" option:
Often times I set up a weapon in free build and then see if I can make a "better" one using different parts, but sadly I have a lot of trouble keeping all the previous values in mind.
A button that allows the current setup to be set as the comparision base line would be great, the values would then show up the same way as they do on a crafting order (current value / comparision), thereby making it much easier to see the differences.

    ---

Thirdly, another nice feature would be a filter for the hero selection using smithing skill, so that only companions with, for example, smithing skill over 10 are shown.
With multiple heroes in a party and sometimes resorting them, it could avoid accidentally using the wrong hero, for example when smelting.

Thank you for supporting Ampil's color display.

I came up with a new proposal.
    There are 2 cases.

    1.  I would like a tab to be displayed in the "saved design list" on the forging screen.
In addition to the two tabs currently on the forging screen, I would like a tab that lists all designs.
The current "Saved Designs" tab is necessary to use for searching designs by type.

    *Save Design
    *Saved Designs (Type)
    *Saved Designs (List)

    2. I want you to be able to use the sorting function of materials on the refining screen.
This is to find a 3 wood weapon.

    I think you are busy.
    Please do not overdo it.
Please be careful about your health.

Thanks for worrying about me :)
But you are right: my vacation is over, also there is a small business trip ahead, so the development of the mod will pause for a while.

I have a question about sorting suggestion. Did I understand your idea correctly: by choosing to sort by hardwood (for example), at the top there will be items that give more hardwood, and at the bottom - those that give less?

      is that so,
From top to bottom, things are lined up from more to less.
I would like to see the original vanilla sorting functionality restored.
The original vanilla functionality is disabled by mods.
It's not an urgent need feature.
But I think other users care too.

      PS.
Please do your best to give priority to your personal work.

    Hi there,

I wanted to suggest (but I don't know if it's expressly within scope) to possibly include the vanilla bug related to the size of components causing visual issues after reloading the save?

(IE. max out blade size, forge, looks normal then save and load -> size of component resets and visual issue occurs).

Always frustrated me with Bannerlords smithing since day 1.

I'll try to fix this bug but I'm not sure if I can do it. I think that TaleWorlds would have fixed it long ago if the solution would be simple. By the way, thanks for the details - I didn't pay attention that the problem occurs after loading the save, nor that the size of the parts somehow changed.

    hello! !
Thank you for supporting the UI scale change.

I came up with a new proposal.
Blacksmith skills are often used to develop characters.
    I want VIG+1, CTR+1, END+1.
Get lost in choosing a character to smelt, forge, and refine.

I would like to change the color of the stamina values of both the candidate character and the selected character.

    Image of proposal
    https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/images/889?

Red: when the growth limit is reached.
    Yellow: Exceeded the learning limit.
Green: if the learning limit has not been reached.

I think that the representation of the character color is more intuitive than the representation of each numerical value.

MtFuji0315, it's done! Smith skill limits now displayed via anvil color near character smith level. I think that changing the color of the anvil instead of the actual skill value would be better, because this will not impair the readability of the level digits. Thanks again for your suggestion.

I know that crafting armor is off the table, HOWEVER, a feature I used to love in Warband mods was the ability to reforge/reroll weapons and armor? (specifically armor)

It is pretty annoying that 99.9999% of items you loot post-battle are "crude/cracked/broken/rusty" etc etc...even with perks that are supposed to change that.

It would be really nice to be able to spend a chunk of materials reforging or rerolling their modifier
-It would give you some other outlet to use the OBSCENE amount of smithing mats you accumulate in the late game
-Would actually make you question whether or not you want to keep an item as opposed to ALWAYs just giving it to your troops for the XP

Perhaps your Smithing level and the tier of the item in question could determine how much resources would be required to do so and it would also determine your success chance?

-You can only "reforge" an item once as to avoid abuse and spamming

-High Smithing level and perhaps you can spend some Thamaskene steel (or whatever material that matches the item's tier) to try and turn the crude/broken Sabre or Helmet to "Fine/Heavy/Masterwork/Lordly"  (the higher the smithing level, the better the possible modifier you could land?)

-However, for the sake of balance, if you have a lower Smithing level and you try reforging a Crude Tier6 item, you could run the risk of making the item even worse or maybe ruining it altogether and the item is just deleted from your inventory?

Perhaps this is way bigger of an ask than I realize haha but this would be my suggestion

An interesting suggestion, but I still have a hard time imagining how to implement this in terms of a user interface (in a form that is understandable to the player)? Maybe you have some ideas about this?
