    The original version 1.0.1 is bugged and actually does not work. It does not break the game, but it basically does not change it.
    The changes were very hard to test. So I played the game for a long time with the mod enabled. It seemed that it worked, but I have interpreted the observations incorrectly leading me to a wrong conclusion.

    Use the next version, e.g. 1.0.2 instead for all game versions. Mod version 1.0.2 was tested with game version 1.7.2.

    For better testing I now created a mod that logs when parties are created, see Party Info. This separate mod may be used to verify that it works.

    This mod makes it possible to play the game besides just constantly having to do sieges and lord battles! I can finally quest! Thank you so much! I never had any breathing room since I JOINED a kingdom, now I can finally actually be a character rather than just an interstellar exterminating machine programmed to conquer and kill.

    Do you guys know similar mod like this? This is probably broken on 1.8.0.

    just FYI , i am using the outdated one on 1.7.1 without any issue . thats good while using other "true" mod .

    also , i looked into the xslt file ,  i can see there template here but only cover the orginal factions .
    so if i want also want to do the same setting on the other factions like CEK have , i can just change the party_(faction) , the NPCCharacter.(faction)_soldier and put this mod under the bottom of the load order right ?

    example :
    <xsl:template match="MBPartyTemplate[@id='kingdom_hero_party_nordling_template']">
            <MBPartyTemplate id="kingdom_hero_party_nordling_template" >
                <stacks>
                    <PartyTemplateStack min_value="4" max_value="8" troop="NPCCharacter.nordling_warrior" />
                    <PartyTemplateStack min_value="2" max_value="4" troop="NPCCharacter.nordling_soldier" />
                </stacks>
            </MBPartyTemplate>
        </xsl:template>

      Your comment lead me to look into my mod again and I realised it was bugged and did not work. Use the version 1.0.2 instead, it should work for most current game versions. It most definitly works for game version 1.7.2, as I tested it now with that version again.

      You could install my utility mod Party Info, to verify if 1.0.2 works with your game version.

      Your proposed changes for other factions look good. You could even use the utility mod to check if your changes work.

    Hello Fritzgroes,

    I have installed your mod through Vortex and I have been playing with it for 3 weeks now.

    In your description, you say that AI lords should restart with less than 20 soldiers, but I always see them with more than 40 men...

    Do you have an idea about what could be the reason?

    Thanks a lot :)

      Afaik after they are released they restart in their home town. Could it be that they are immediately recruiting the troops in those home towns and only leave that town when they have a certain amount of troops?

      If that is the case the mod still slows them down, because the newly recruited troops are mostly low level and they are taken from the common recruitment pool so other lords can not recruit those troops. Without the mod they get around 50 free elite troops on top of that.

      You were right, the first version of the mod actually did not work. I recently looked into it again, because of some comments. I also created a mod that enables direct testing of the mod, see. sticky comment.

      What version of the game is this mod for?

    I sure hope this mod (or something just like it) exists for all versions of this game in the future... I've always hated how much the AI cheats against you in Mount & Blade games. To be fair, your player character is usually a massive advantage that AI parties don't have, but it always felt like battles that weren't decisive victories were just never worth taking because the enemy restocks his troops faster than you can even if you wipe them out

      I will probably support it for quite a while. However, the way it is implemented it should work until they do some fundamental changes to the structure of this xml file. So it should be quite low maintenance.

    I love the idea of this mod, but (FOR MYSELF) i wonder if it will make the game too easy and unbalanced. I understand the need for something like this.
    I even tried using a cheat, where pensioners never escape, i captured lord after lord.... and they kept creating new clans just to lead more armies, literally endless. i think it needs balance. If anyone tried this, please let know how it works in practice, if it doesn't make the game too easy ^^

      As far as I can see it makes the game progress a bit faster. You still have to win the battles, just not as many times. IMO Taleworlds tried to extend playtime by repetition and not content, which is not my idea of good time. If you are already taking over the map with ease, than it will probably make enough of a difference that you will enjoy it less. My playthroughs always felt I had to play very exploity to make good progress. I prefer more of a roleplaying style and having to use a lot of exploits and min maxing all the time destroys immersion for me. So this mod makes the game more enjoyable for me. But it is not that much effort to just try it out. If you don't like it you can deactivate it and continue playing. The AI should bounce back from what I have seen.

      But I would also like to hear some other opinions.
