This mod is very simple, it just allows you to configure skill bonuses, any issues outside of that (like bonus actually being applied) are restrictions or limitations put in place by TW on that particular bonus. No new logic/code is added outside of allowing bonus to be configured, everything else is TW.
I do not plan on investigating or fixing any issues with bonuses actually being applied, however, feel free to repot them to TW so the can potentially remove those restrictions.
I have to ask even though the tooltip seems to explain it clearly: Do the sliders really improve the effect by that much Per each skill level. E.g. the 15% damage bonus for one handed would mean 4500% on skill level 300? Since the other mods like BetterAttributes only give 2% for a major central attribute point, it would appear extremely imbalanced if that was the case. (what is even the difference between 4500 and 4520%?)
No one in the comments has remarked this yet, but I read the tooltips again and again, and can't find a way out of interpreting that this is overblown by at least factor 100. I am going to proceed manually tuning it down for now to be sure, but that is a lot of busy work
I strongly agree with this remark. I think it would be better to have the bonus refer to the bonus at skill level 100 which is a reasonable level for a used skill that's not a core skill for the character.
I'm playing a rolled back 1.2.9 (because not enough mods have updated to 1.2.10) with this mod, and the setting for adjusting party size per level of steward is not working at all. It gives the right amount in the skill and clan menus (with a setting of 0.33 and level 10 steward as quartermaster, it says I get +3.3 in both the quartermaster's skill menu and the clan party view) - but when I check my actual party size, and mouse over the breakdown - it says I only get exactly +2. This lines up with the actual party size, of 22. I tried disabling all other mods except better skills and its requirements, then starting a new game - and the problem persisted.
uhm idk how to actually refresh the UI but those problems mentioned, I also experience them but I just let the game flow a few minutes or just open my party and close it and boom. The bonuses is already applied.
I can confirm, it doesn't work for steward. Refreshing the UI by opening the troop menu twice, or by setting a steward perk, etc etc, only applies your current vanilla steward bonus. It doesn't apply the settings from better skills. I guess if we go by the pinned post, this is a limitation from TW making it so changes to the bonus don't actually work.
An indispensable module, but I want to know what changes have occurred? Through comparison, I found that Better Attributes has added a text prompt setting, while this mod seems to have not changed? (I know it's not important, but I'm just curious: D, Because you haven't updated the log yet)
Just a version update, I have stopped updating the changelog here on Nexus due to the extra time required and all changes are already tracked on GitHub.
Very first sentence in the description: ".... This effects all heroes and troops, both friendly and enemy. You're unable to configure this due to how Bannerlord handle skills."
Thanks for the mod! I'm really enjoying it. Is there any chance you'd consider addition section toggles for compatibility with other mods? Mostly just to disable the Vigor and Control portions so RBM's weapon skill changes are used.
