I know this response may seem a bit late, but, this is a vanilla programming error - there is a line of code that, for some reason, modifies the weapon's scale after creation to reset it back to 1.0.
There's a mod on here to fix precisely this: Weapon gap fix
Works 100% on 1.7.0. OSlattery, if you can't enable it, try using a standalone launcher and see how you go. https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/265 will do the job.
Is it possible to make the slider smoother or just reduce the percentage of magnification? I want to adjust the characteristics of the weapon more precisely. This mod makes too extreme settings, in which it is impossible to make both a long and convenient weapon and at the same time fast, although with special effort something reasonable turned out, but it's too long to do it, and it's still not accurate.

Working fine in 1.8.1.
Using it with Better Smithing Continued, Smithing Stamina Stop and Open Source Armory - weaponry.
They look fine in the smithy, but look broken once made.

Tells you that they could not verify all the files and won't let you toggle it on.

Anyone know if this mod works for 1.6.4?
