It appears that the newest modular version is LRv.2b. You'll have to use the main native edit version if you want the latest update until the mod creator creates a newer modular version.
I'm sorry for poor naming system, the module version wouldn't have an "-m" suffix in their name. And currently i haven't updated the module version because an issue of how the game system read module file as added equipment sets variation to units inside the games instead of replacing it. I'm waiting for talesword to update their module system, unless u guys wan't it that way and have no problem with old units equipment still being use in games. I'll try to update it.
I've been trying to give me recruits shields through a module for the last 2 hours before I figured out the equipment string in the module was additive with the orginal game files (In hindsight I probably should have checked nexus to check if someone had already tried to save some time).
I'm wondering if a possible work around might be to make new recruit troop id's and then mod them in as new basic troops in spcultures.mxl so they appear in villages?
Good question @aco11 in theory it's possible, i and several times before i considering to update module version that way. I've try it that way before and although it did work changing the basic troops tier to the new duplicated recruit. It doesn't however remove the original recruit and even after i update spculture with submodule xml, the faction still somehow recruit the old one and the new recruit didn't appear in village recruitment panel. And somehow the imperila cataphract changed into a child. And even if we did able to make it somehow faction and village choose to recruit and provide the new recruit. The old one still there and it's awkward.
Afterall it lots of work to duplicate all recruit in games and make it so the faction in question use them. Lots of bugs and waste of times, I'd rather waiting for talewords to fix their module system rather go all through those hassle just to make them use shield. Though i don't discourage you to try.
One solution that has worked so far for loading the mod as a module on the 1.1.0 + 1.2.0 Beta Patch, at least for the levy edition and if you don't mind your troops looking like a bunch of rabble with a random mix of swords, shields, and spears. Wouldn't recommend this in the long run though as updates continue to be passed in the future, but its stable without crashes so far.
1. Take LRv.2b, extract it to the module folder as you would install any other mod. 2. Download the lrv 4bm zip, extract to desktop or elsewhere. 3. In the LRv.2b folder, look at "spnpccharacters_lowtierrevamp_b.xml", and copy the name of this file. Delete the file. 4. In the lrv 4bm folder, Replace the "spnpccharacters.xml" file's name with "spnpccharacters_lowtierrevamp_b.xml". 5. Copy - Paste the renamed spnpccharacters.xml of the lrv 4bm patch, renamed as "spnpccharacters_lowtierrevamp_b.xml", to where the original spnpccharacters_lowtierrevamp_b.xml from the LRv.2b was in the module folder. 6. Start Bannerlord, ensure the load order is correct and that the mod is being loaded after "Native".
That's exactly why i haven't update the module version, because it only add as equipment variation instead of replace, I didn't have plan to participate in Beta patch so if anyone had already switch to Beta patch. Considering sending me spnpccharacter.xml of Beta version so i can update both module and native version for Beta patch.
The quest unit, borrowed troops need a revamp. They are basically similar to peasants, but with higher level. The upgraded unit is with a shield and sword and no good armor only linen tunic. They have the same level as your level 16 soldier with more armor will die pretty quickly from ranged fire..
Noted. The quest unit borrowed troops will be revamped with shield in next update, as for upgraded unit they will stay as they are as the aim of this mod wasn't to buff low tier unit but to make them more like dark ages levy unit armed with spear and shield to give them chances against ranger unit and cavalry. They pretty much still a disposable unit just like in real life, but wouldn't be too weak to get killed by range unit before doing anything against the enemy.
EDIT: new update will also add shield to second tier unit if they haven't had one.
They won't be vunerable to archer fire anymore, afteral historicly speaking any recruit or levy in ancient time often armed at least with a pair of spear and shield, i just add them to the game to make them more aethestic and stronger against archer.
Yea, i'm planning to add it too, don't know why i don't do it on first place. Next version will be avaible in module version so if it placed at bottom of the list it will replace any mod on top of them!
@rplane48 Don't worry about that, i will make it compatible (Hopefully) in next update using module instead of editing the native file, so it won't need to get overwritten everytime games update but also make it compatible with any troops mod so long as the mod it's placed at the bottom of the list.
load this before unit stat fixes if said mod also edit troops equipment, thought if it did edit troops equipment, you may find old equipment set still being use in battlefield.
Please forgive my ignorance on this subject.. I only started using Nexux mods yesterday. I have 15 mods and after 45 minutes of trouble shooting I discovered this mod is crashing my game on startup.. I see people talking about a "loading order" how do I adjust that? In the mods menu in game? because this mod pops up between 2 of the actual game mods..and it doesn't seem like I can click and drag them into different positions. I love the idea of this mod and want to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated I'm sure you are busy so no rush. Thank you.
It's ok, this happen due new 1.0.8 update, it literally broke mods load order, so in order to fix this, i already put link for mod that enabled you to sort load order in desc, you should check that out.
Also i'm planning to upload optional new version soon the one that replace native game files, since the games seems make it unable to completely replace native equipment set instead add it as equipment variation. so if you use module version, you still see the old set during the battle.
would it also be possible to replace all sword recruits with spears? this would be more historically accurate as spears were cheaper and easier to mass procude compared to spears

Any idea if there were any changes to unit gear in the 1.3 update? Will using this mod conflict with any changes from the update?

and are much worse than peasants.
Overall good idea.
