I know this is old, but I really like the idea of this. I was looking for a mod that adds slings and this is the only one I found. It would be awesome if you updated this to 1.7 and found a way to make them player usable.
Also, Dad...?? Where have you been all these years??
Nice! Is this for 1.4.1 beta only (I saw the new Highland Shield)?
As the sling was a simple and cheap weapon (difficult to master), often used by young people who utilized mobility, I would not give heavy equipment to the slingers. Under no circumstances they should have a spear (did you ever use a sling?); axe/dagger and round shield (you can sling with shield attached, much easier than shooting a bow with a shield) with no armor would be the most historically accurate. And high athletics would fit, but every one's taste is different of course.
Ok, then I have to wait till 1.4.1 becomes the stable version.
BTW the equipment, it's not only or even mostly a matter of historical accuracy (Calradia is a fantasy world), it's more a matter of the intrinsic logic of the weapon. It would be the same in fantasy Calradia as in our world. An armored slinger with heavy weapons or a spear on back does not make any sense in both universes.

Just wondering if I could have permission to add your sling item to my mod: Calradian Reforms - Faction Overhaul?
I would give you the appropriate credits of course.

There's not a compatibility for 1.4.0, so it's 1.4.1 only
