About this mod

Want to lead a band of bandits to loot and plunder? Become a bandit warlord perhaps? This mod is focused on giving more gameplay to players who would like to roleplay as a ruthless bandit. So far it allows you to recruit bandits and looters from hideouts and towns respectively in a balanced way, and also expands the current bandit troop trees.

ModLib is a soft dependency for this mod. If you would like to have additional options from the main menu to change the way the mod works, you must use ModLib in tandem with this mod. If however, you don't care about tweaking this mod's settings, you don't need to use ModLib as the mod can run without it on the default settings that I have set for the mod.

List of Changes

Spoiler:
Show

Recruitment:
-Added ability to recruit bandits from hideouts in a balanced way. The type of troops is determined by which bandit clan owns the hideout (Mountain Bandits, Forest Bandits, etc.) and the amount of available troops is determined by the amount of troops available in the hideout.
-Added ability to recruit looters from local gangleaders at towns in a balanced way. The amount of looters available to be recruited is determined by your relations with the local gangleaders. The higher your relations, the bigger the max size of the recruitment pool is.
-The recruitment logic works similar to how you recruit normal troops in villages and towns as once you recruit bandits from a hideout/town you have to wait for the recruitment pool to replenish in order to recruit more troops. This keeps things balanced as you can't just recruit an unlimited amount of bandits from one place.

Troop Trees:
-Added a looter troop tree to allow players to actually upgrade looters without the disciplinarian perk (you can still upgrade your looters into the imperial tree if you would like). This includes 5 new troops that go up to tier 5.

On Map Parties:
-Looter parties now spawn with newly added looter troops. This makes them a bit more stronger and challenging but I made sure to balance them out as best I could. You could also disable this and keep the default looter parties (check configuration section for more info).

Future Plans
-Overhaul the rest of the bandit troop trees to allow the player to create a powerful bandit army without having the convert troops into the main kingdom troop trees.
-Add more ways to interact with bandit hideouts such as being able to interact with the bandit leader and be able to gain relations with them.
-Add the ability to extort money from peasants in villages
-Add the ability to extort businesses in towns

I will continue to think up of new mechanics to implement with this mod as time goes on!

Installation
Important: If you are updating the mod from a previous version, delete the old mod folder first.

Extract the mod folder named 'Banditry' to your modules folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules). Do not rename this folder or the mod won't function. Activate it in the game launcher's 'Mods' menu. Ensure that the mod is listed below the official TaleWorlds modules or it will crash!

Configuration
This mod has a few settings that you could tweak if you would like, as long as you have ModLib activated.

To configure the mod's settings, open the 'Mod Options' screen from the game's main menu and select the 'Banditry' item from the list on the left. Once you have changed the settings you want, click the 'Done' button. The game will need to restart to apply the changes. This is due to how the mod changes the base game.

If you do not want to keep the changes you have made to the settings, click the 'Cancel' button and the changes will be reverted to what they were.

Compatibility
This mod was created with compatibility in mind and should be compatible with most mods out there. That being said, any mods that modify existing bandit troops trees in the game will probably be incompatible as my mod also modifies those trees.

This mod will work on existing saves with no problems!

NOTE: If you would like to remove the mod while in the middle of a modded campaign, please go into the mod's settings in the main menu and enable the "Remove modded data from save" setting. After restarting your game, go load your save and there should be a notification pop up that says you successfully deleted the mod's data from your save. Once this is done you can safely deactivate and stop using the mod with that save.
(Doing this will remove any of the troops added through the mod from your own party as well as from other parties around the map.)

Bug Reports and Suggestions
If you find a bug and would like to report it, please go ahead and report a bug in the bugs section of this post. I'll try to make sure to frequently check and fix any bugs that users of this mod might find.

Also if you have any suggestions for this mod such as new gameplay mechanics that would enhance the bandit experience or tweaks/balancing be sure to create a post detailing your suggestion!
