Much apologies for the lack of responses here. I've mentioned it to before - but our focus has been with Eagle Rising recently. That said - 1.5.7 has completely rework a lot fo things.
This is going to mean completley rebuilding the mod... and for a mod like CA - Fantasy which is expansive, it can mean death.
Right now I'm considering the options for when we do return to fantasy (and we will return), but as to what is the mos appropriate action I am not sure. I am considering removing the "fantasy races" as it was somewhat cheesy to begin with.
I wouldn't mind bringing our Romans from Eagle Rising, outfitting them in our exaggerated / epic ways, and creating a type of "mid fantasy" that has high fantasy elements without the poser races. Any thoughts?
i personally really like the mod so the thought about it dying vs getting a overhaul for longevity sounds rather fair. i wouldn't mind seeing the fantasy toned down a bit but i would like to keep the diversity of equipment and such maybe that could be the focus instead of the races itself?
I personally only use the items but if you plan on bringing in fantasy clans/races, maybe making them work through ATC would work better in the long run than replacing the existing ones. At least until a long term stable build is put out.
I would love to see the fantasy races still exist but as minor factions. Capturable and recruitable. More low fantasy, old races dying out feel. A lower power level on magic or have it take longer to build to it's full potential.
OMG Fantasy Roman Army would be absolutely Incredible! That is Most definitely the route to take. AS for removing Fantasy.... Cheesy? who cares this is a video game. Not the History Channel. But i do have a question, Are All the eagle Rising units in this Mod, I want to load both. I want your templars and other medieval units and roman units all in one game.
Anyone know how I can get a version of bannerlord to play this? Unfortunately I own the steam version which auto-updated and I can no longer play this (And there are no beta branches in steam for v1.5.5 or v1.5.6 I have been waiting for months (years?) for either this mod to be updated, or for the game devs on steam to do something but I really miss playing this.
We're working on reviving the mod. It's just taking a while. Like Kilo said in a post below, this mod was just a crazy concept and was mostly experimentation. With the new one, we'll have original lore, armor, weapons, map, etc. It all takes time, especially since we're focused on irl stuff.
Look in your steam page there should be a folder called properties that you can access from your library then highlight the settings icon then open the page it should allow you to choose the version you want to opt into however certain mods as you know will only be compatiable with a certain version
I came to this page because Bannerlord is out of Early Access now and I'm looking for mods, I see that this mod is paused/on hiatus and will probably be overhauled if it comes back. If the team running the mod sees this, if nothing else I'd like if you kept/focused on magic if you decide to comeback to this mod. This mod looks like it's inspired by Warhammer but The Old Realms mod is pretty much doing a lot of what this mod was designed around, (early firearms, race/factions etc). If this game ends up being anything like Warband it will have a lot of Total Conversions set in their own worlds, so I think focusing on magic would be best because that's something everyone can do a little differently and Warband had very few Total Conversions with magic
It was just a crazy concept mod with a lot of random stuff before the mod tools were much of a thing or when they just came out. It's not even possible to stand in the same light that is the beauty of the old realms :P. Will probably return to update for some wackiness in the future, going to be some time though. Magic will play a big part, but of course this has always just been reskinned throwing items or aura effects, no real advanced systems in place.
I'm sorry, but there was a limit I could do with this mod having limited skills myself (scripting, modeling, etc). It would require a team of people to do a legitimate fantasy mod. Still, thanks to ER we have a strong team with good skills, we will try to rope some of them in to revive this and maybe improve it in the future :)
