[size=large]REALISTIC NATIVE WEAPON SIZES[/size]
Finally an end to grotesquely oversized vanilla weapons! This small mod changes the common resource mesh files so that those colossal swords and axes get a healthy reduction in size to 80%-85% of present.

[rule] Features[rule]
  • Reduces the size of most Native weapons (although not polearms)to about 80%-85% of original for a more realistic look.
  • Replaces some unrealistic-looking models
  • Corrects many erroneous stats
  • Ready to play for Native
  • Python source files included for modders

[rule] File History[rule]v1.01 Fixed length stats for sword of war and great axe (were unchanged)

Wed, Oct-17-2007

v1.1 Added RCM option and fixed more forgotten length stats changes, including Axe and Battle Axe.

Wed, Oct-17-2007

v1.2 Added the new swords from weapon_meshes_c and that changed file, moved back the grip point of the vanilla sword a wee bit to avoid clipping and more unchanged length stats fixed.

Thu, Oct-18-2007

*v1.3 - Turned the double axe into a smaller (60% of original) 1H axe, rebalanced axes to more logical length/weight progression. Fixed the faulty lengths for the new 1H-axes, fixed arming sword grip point too, corrected the resulting increased length for both arming sword and sword

Thu, Oct-18-2007

*v1.31 - Lengthened 2H sword, since they ended up a little bit too short compared to real swords. Shortened pollaxe, historical length of heft was about 2m which is the new length. Fixed faulty default lengths for a number of pole arms, spears, lances and staffs. (No models changed, just stat adjusted to existing model).

v1.4 - NEW SEMI-FINAL VERSION
Scabbard size is finally fixed for the original weapons. Not for new swords, but they were less reduced. Fixed a few faulty stats and name of the former broadsword (now a Shortsword, Cinqueda style.)

v1.5 - STILL SEMI-FINAL :)
Replaced sucky models for double axe, pollaxe and polehammer with better ones by Ron Losey, rebalanced axe and fighting axe into 1/2 handed axes. Redid the handle of the greatsword, was looking too thin.

v1.6 -FINAL MAJOR VERSION (only tweaks and add-ons from here on)
Replaced Maul, Sledgehammer and Warhammer (the stone hammers) with better models by Ron Losey, added modified clone meshes for weapons that previously worked with the same model (like great sword/war sword), shrunk knifes and daggers, lengthened the "sword" slightly to better conform to median (rather than average) length for medieval arming swords, tweaked many stats. Source files are now only weapon lists for copy/pasting into the python items file.

v1.61 -Bugfix: the RCM item1 file of v1.6 was broken, fixed now. Broadened the blade and scabbard of the war sword by 15%, replaced the boar spear, peasant knife and Khyber knife with models by Ron Losey, implemented the reading from module installation - RNWS no longer replaces or interferes with original native files or with mods not set to use RNWS.
