I tried installing this mod like three times, but no matter how many times I try the sword is all stone-gray except for the ruby. It's a real shame, this is probably the best-looking Chrysamere replacer I've seen but I just can't get it to work.
It works fine for me and I just manually installed the files. If it uses bumpmaps, specular maps or normal maps you might need to use the Morrowind Code Patch for it to work properly. That's the only thing I can think of that could be causing the problem as the base game doesn't have support for those iirc.
Looking at the texture files themselves the Tx_w_chrysamere_01_ref.tga, Tx_w_chrysamere_02_ref.tga and Tx_w_chrysamere_03_ref.tga files look like they could be specular maps but I couldn't say for sure. I'd try running the Morrowind Code Patch if you aren't already and see if that fixes it. Otherwise you'll have to try getting in contact with the mod author via his email ([email protected]) or try fixing it yourself.

Check the description page. It says if redistribute or use any parts of the mod be sure credit is given to VagabondAngel ([email protected]) and Astion. I'd assume they want credit on both the description page and the readme.
I tried everything to get this to work, deleted all sorts of other mods and retextures, but I couldn't get it to look like the screenshots. I don't know if it's an OpenMW bug, if I just missed something, or if the mod even works anymore or has a broken download. I just keep getting the flat grey texture, with just the ruby, like everyone else. If anyone knows how to get it to work, please let me know!

Is author here? Can I try to fix and re-upload the replacer?
This one looks much better than vanilla one.
