So.. eh why does it say it also changes lockpicks and probes. Those aren't weapons, that should be a separate module. I will try this mod out but I think it rather odd to have that changed
One might think that if this was really an issue, one of the big overhauls like TR, MR, or one of the "aftermarket" updates like code project would have done something like this already. This mod is fairly old, not been updated since 2009... is it really needed? Does it work smoothly? What is this I see about it being a bit... "untidy"?
In this description it says: http://mw.modhistory.com/download-15-460
"Also I changed some of the attributes of certain weapons to reflect how they were used in reality, the japanese swords and halberds in particular
The Katanas, Dai-Katanas and Wakizashis are now slashing weapons, the tanto stays a thrusting weapon.
Halberds are now choping weapons to reflect the fact that the most deadly part of the weapon is the the blade, but I kept the thrusting value high also.
I changed the amount of uses that the lockpicks, probes and armorers hammers have based upon the quality of the Item."
AND ALSO: Admin Comments: Weapon Length Fix.esp Contains 21 dirty references - this mod will require cleaning before use.
A little added explanation: this is not about the actual visual length of the weapons, this is about their reach, how far or close an enemy has to be in order to be hit with a specific weapon. I believe this little correction was neccessary, you can't hit as far with a plain iron longsword as with a massive daedric claymore, now, can you ? Good job !
