I'm having trouble getting it to work properly. I've enabled the script, and the minimap displays correctly, but no buffs are showing up. Here's what I've tried so far:
Enabled the mod and the script as instructed
Confirmed the minimap appears in-game
Started with fresh Openmw.cfg and settings.cfg
Unfortunately, the buffs still don't appear.
Edit : I managed to fix it by setting the same scaling factor as the one in my setting.cfg
How do properly uninstall this mod. This mod has seemingly removed my old vanilla effect timer next to the map. I unchecked it, and deleted it. It happened to all my saves even though not all my saves had this mod. Even a new character did not have the vanilla effect icons.
the culprit is "mygui/openmw_hud.layout" this file only remains if you unpacked your mods into a single data folder. openmw comes with it's own virtual file system. you should install each mod in a separate folder.
I think the Better Bars patch is not working for 21:9 resolutions, atleast in my game at 3440x1440 the timers disappear completely when I use the provided patch.
i don't think the patch is the problem. have you set the scaling factor in the mod setting? set it to the same as the scaling factor under [GUI] in your settings.cfg and reload (make sure the hud is not toggled off)
Hey ysmiraak Thanks for that quick Better Bars patch. It works beautifully. I love how the entire icon blinks when we have < 10 seconds. Also, the icons adjust their position when one effect expires. Brilliant! Thank you for this awesome mod!
this mod and Better Bars both overwrite "mygui/openmw_hud.layout", but this is easy to resolve. the conflict i'm thinking about is the date time display on the bottom right, next to the mini-map. my icons will overlap with some of the texts.
that is, assuming you didn't increase the gui scale, which you probably did cuz your screen resolution is high. the size and positions of the icons are only tailored to the default scale, cuz the lua api has no access to these settings atm.
update: version 1.1 now has a mod setting for the scaling factor. use the same number you have in "settings.cfg" or the icons are probably outside of your screen~
Scaling Factor option is great! What do you recommend? Loading your mod after (OpenMW 0.49) Better Bars? I can get rid of that DateandTime mod - its not important to be honest!
i made a compatibility patch for Better Bars, but i'm having difficulty uploading it to nexus atm. i sent it to you privately. i'm curious about that date time mod tho, cuz i can't find it.

their positions are hardcoded and i don't want to mess with their code.

Will be adding your mod for the Bella playthrough on our channel!
it's not compatible with bella's current hud tho. i can't even figure out what mod you got for her.
but we can make them compatible~
(OpenMW 0.49) Better Bars & BuffTimers (For OpenMW)
I will replace BuffTimers (For OpenMW) with your mod.
I don't think Better Bars should conflict. What do you think?
