Ebonheart - Serenity by BadKarma and Leeloo - TRANSLATION

Project Overview:

This upload aims to help preserve and translate a forgotten mod, while trying to update and correct certain elements.

This was an exciting translation and conservation project, completed with invaluable assistance from ChatGPT!

Please keep in mind that the wearable items in this mod were originally designed for male characters and require Better Bodies. Some restrictive design choices by the original creators mean that many custom chest and leg slot items do not interact well with equipment from outside this mod. Maybe someday someone can help improve this compatibility, as the mod includes some really cool custom items. For this release, I focused on translating, fixing, and improving what I could to help preserve the work.

All original files are still included in this upload.

Translations to English:

Translated Skeleton Crew nicknames to English.

Captain’s custom greeting dialogue translated and fixed (removed French “naked condition” greeting that was overriding vanilla).

Captain’s Dwemer chest label translated to English.

Item names should now be fully translated to English — this includes new armor (46 items), clothing (76 items), lanterns, and a few misc/clutter items. Let me know if you spot anything I missed or something that we could improve.

Custom Siren race description translated (note: not assigned as a playable race; it seems the fishtail is actually a clothing item).

Changes in this upload:

Lana the Mermaid has been repositioned on the Z-axis, now swimming a few meters just below the ship.
This workaround lets players interact with her and properly display custom hair on her, as there were issues when she was inside the water tank.

Fixed cannon and flower clipping issues for better immersion.

Skull decorations near the plank have been reimagined for a more fitting aesthetic.

The three "2spooky4me" Halloween lights were replaced with (hopefully) more immersive alternatives.

Improved table clutter placement for more immersive aesthetics (clipping fixes).

Captain Jack has been repositioned so he no longer blocks the stairs behind him.
The Captain and cat spawn positions have also been lowered so that they don't fall from the sky anymore.

Cleaned up a random rock reference in the ship’s cell using Enchanted Editor.

Chandolier got a "dirty noob hack" by me and immersively emits candlelight now.

Repositioned Sound_Crystal_Chime sfx emitter to be more subtle and less intrusive.

Assigned the vanilla LegionUniform script to the “Imperial Armor” types in this mod, including Centurion/Decurion Armors and the Lorica Segmentata.
These should now behave like vanilla uniforms when interacting with Legion NPCs, keeping it lore-friendly and immersive.
Let me know if you think we should extend this change to more armor pieces!

Disabled some of the worse looking lantern replacers with Enchanted Editor.

Minor issues I was not able to fix so far:

Seamless cannon texture and missing candle texture — still needs a fix. IDK how to approach this even atm.

Armor and shirt slot compatibility — Many armor/shirt/leg slot items will likely not be compatible with female characters or interact well with equipment from outside this mod. This is because most of the custom meshes are pre-assigned to odd slots (for example, chest armor using the ankle slot — yeah, I don’t know why either!). Unfortunately, I’m still too much of a noob to fix these mesh and texture issues myself.

Retexture issues — the retextured robes include muscular white male skin, which can look odd if your skin textures don’t match.

Lana’s water tank collision issue — this was preventing player interaction and causing rendering problems with her hair, making her appear bald from certain angles. Workaround: moved her just below the ship and it looks kinda cool imo.

Blue skeleton hanging on the plank — for now, it’s been hidden inside the ship model (similar to the Lana workaround). Maybe I can figure out how to address the blue tint later. For now, his absence may actually help immersion a bit.

Recommended Mods

Sea Dog Tavern — Grazelands tavern with themed items and a new dungeon quest.

Additionally, I’ve got plans for compatibility patches for:

Distant Ebonheart (conflicts with Western Docks, blocking the new passage)

Ships of the Imperial Navy (conflicts with Western Docks and some Dagon Fel additions — patch is pretty much ready, just want to sort out updating the navmesh before upload).

*****************************************************************
From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box
next to the "BadKarma's and Leeloo's Serenity" file.

Please report conflicts and bugs to me if you find them.

Known issues:
There might be some minor clipping. The pants won't work with Bethesda
boots due to how the body slots are used for BB clothing. Some alpha-channelled
clothing will disappear underwater if viewed from above. This is to do with the
alpha-channels and nothing much I can do about that! The easy solution is:
take your clothes off to go swimming! ;) All of this stuff is male only -
The textures are quite large, and may cause a framerate hit on lower-end computers.

The coats are only suitable for the bretonian and imperial race and only for
males (remember this is mainly a mod for male characters!)
The sleeves of the coats can only be seen in 3-Person-View. In first person
view the arms of your character are partly missing! This might be a probelm with
the mesh I used.
