VanillaPlus Quality Of Life was written using the OpenMW 0.47.0 - Construction Set Alpha environment. If you would like a mod loader to work with the mod bundle, rename them from *.omwaddon to *.esp and they should work fine. Balmora Storage House and Godly Nerevarine Armour mods were originally ESPs. All thanks and kudos will be found at the end of this document. :)
Requirements:
Morrowind + expansions
OAAB
TR_Data
Tamriel Rebuilt
If you only wish to use my mod bundle and skip using any of the Recommended mods listed at the end of the document, you might get away with having only Morrowind and both expansion packs (Tribunal and Bloodmoon). If at all possible, it is best to have all of the Requirements installed, for current and future mods you may want to play.
What does VanillaPlus Quality Of Life mod bundle do?
Maintains a focus on the original game with some changes, creating a new Vanilla+ Enchantables tier, that retains vanilla stats other than adding more Enchanting points and increased Health (durability) to vanilla items. Also allows the player to pick any plant they wish as they carry on their journey through Morrowind, without worry about weight. Potion making is another focus, allowing the player to create potions without weight, as well as finding or buying existing potions that also have zero weight. Enchanting is another emphasis by giving you more Grand Soul gems for future Enchanting. You can now buy a Nerevarine set of items from a vendor located inside of your Balmora Storage House.
Improves weight management in a vanilla playthrough by making the following items without weight:
- books, notes and scrolls, Alchemy tools, Alchemy ingredients, potions (since a crafted potion takes the average of the Ingredient(s) weight into consideration, and I have made Ingredients zero weight, crafted potions should also be zero weight when you craft them), arrows, bolts and darts, Soul Gems
Added one custom Jump potion called Potion Of Jump Extended.
Adds customized vanilla light sources (5 Candles, 3 Lanterns and 3 Torches) that have 5 hours + duration. These customized light sources have an extended light radius now.
Created 2 amulets with light sources, with 2 variants of them, and added them to Drizzt Do'Urden inside of your Balmora Storage Home
Paper now has 100 Enchanting points and are without weight.
Newly added Enchanting Paper, has 1000 Enchanting points and are without weight.
A second tier of vanilla items has been created, and I call them Enchantables. All of the Armours are uniquely named internally, making them an entirely new tier of vanilla gear for you to find inside of containers, and at NPC shops. All vanilla armours remain vanilla, meaning you will find vanilla items as you travel, same as always. The Enchantables tier have 1000 Enchanting points and 5000 Health (durability). All other vanilla stats remain vanilla, unchanged. The names of the Enchantables remain the exact same as the vanilla originals. Check for Health 5000 values on items you find, and if you did find one with Health 5000, that is an Enchantables item with extra Enchanting points as well.
The same is true for Weapons. Weapons Enchantables tier also has 1000 Enchanting points and 5000 Health (durability). None of the damage stats have been changed from their vanilla originals.
Total number of Enchantables I have added:
- 266 Armours
- 134 Weapons
- 6 Exquisite pieces of clothing, each with 1000 Enchanting points are found exclusively inside of Drizzt's shop
Most Repair tools have extended use, slightly increased effectiveness, and are now without weight.
Lockpicking tools (lockpicks and probes) have extended use, slightly increased effectiveness, and are now without weight.
Morrowind has some great items to find as you progress in the game, but none of them were fit to call them an actual reward for completing the main quest.
When you first visit Caius Cosades in Balmora, you will find a complete set of Nerevarine gear inside his humble home, including a 1-handed sword. You can choose to pick them up and use them all, or use specific pieces that match your character build, or leave them to Caius. The choice is yours.
You can purchase the new Nerevarine rewards from Drizzt Do'Urden, found inside of your Balmora Storage Home. None of the items you see in his shop window are available as drops anywhere else in the game. The two custom arrows and one custom bolt are infinately available for purchase, they will never run out, so please feel free to buy your bow or crossbow supplies exclusively from Drizzt. All three of the projectiles are based on their Iron counterparts, keeping them at mid-level damage.
The vast majority of Morrowind remains untouched.
How to install the mod bundle:
There are 2 directories:
\Required
\Optional
Copy all of \Required\ into:
\Morrowind\Data Files\
...when prompted to overwrite, please select YES.
The load order for the \Required parts:
a1x_BalmoraStorageHome.omwaddon
Godly Nerevarine Armour.omwaddon
Essential_Core.omwaddon
EssCore_Enchantables.omwaddon
The mods above will give you most of the features the mod bundle has to offer you.
The \Optional\ section contains:
EssCore_Game_Rules.omwaddon = a few game rules I have changed and they are:
fBarterGoldResetDelay 1 = vendor gold values reset every 1 hour in-game instead of 24 hours
fEncumbranceStrMult 50 = changes maths for Weight to allow you to carry much more stuff based on your Strength value
fHoldBreathTime 20000 = instead of having to worry about breathing underwater with original vanilla values, which was an extremely short amount of time, now you can naturally swim undewater for 5 + hours
fMagicItemRechargePerSecond 10 = increases Charge regeneration on items you have that are On Strike / On Use immensely; this simple change allows all of the vanilla On Strike / On Use items to be viable at all times instead of needing to rest / sleep for 24 hours; you can Wait for a shorter period of time to restore Charge values
NOTE: I have left these Game Rules grouped together. I can always adjust these values, or break them apart as single Game Rule changes, depending on what you, the awesome Gamer, would prefer, just post a message with your requests please and I will do a mod update for them!
Potion Of Heroism.omwaddon = a direct replacement of Reflect potions with Potion Of Heroism
Reflect Begone.omwaddon = removal of the Reflect mechanic (this changes essentially everything that uses the Reflect effect as part of its math to deal zero damage)
TrashCan.omwaddon = adds Trash containers to a few places, including Balmora, to remove items you simply do not care about (items removed this way cannot be returned, be aware of that)
There is no real load order for the \Optional\ mod bundle, but to be safe, you can place them all underneath the \Required\ mod bundle load list.
Is this mod compatible with others?
Best way to answer this is...
Maybe.
VanillaPlus Quality Of Life does quite a few direct changes to vanilla items (some light sources, all of the featured items that are weightless, and internally, makes direct changes to 146 vanilla containers).
Placing everything at the bottom or near-bottom of your existing mod load order, is ideal.
If I have missed anything, or you have suggestions for changes or anything else, post a note on my mod page letting me know what I did miss or what you would like.
THANKYOU ALL!
Keep being awesome.

People to thank and things to say:
WADO (Weapons Armor Diversity Overhaul) found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45004?tab=files
...was instrumental in my decision to make my own item delivery mod similar to how WADO does that. I would like to thank the author of WADO for making a very interesting mod that adds many different items and new enchantments on those different items. I have not used anything from WADO, just some of the ideas I put in place in my mod stems from looking into the framework of what WADO contains.

Balmora Storage Home found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45566?tab=files
This awesome home felt like a man-cave to me when I first installed it a while back. So much so, that it became my own personal base of operations. The author of Balmora Storage Home nailed all the particulars a Morrowind player would like, without it feeling like you lived in a mansion, or on the streets. I have completely changed the mod from its original iteration to fit the vanilla+ idea of my mod. I always wanted to speak to Drizzt Do'Urden, and now I have made that possible. He has no new voice-lines, and that is a possible thing to add in the future! Thankyou for the wonderful mod, and I hope you appreciate the changes I made to your mod, so it would fit into mine. It was really fun watching your Balmora Storage Home become something special.

lordblooper's God Tier Armor found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47993?tab=files
One of the best vanilla+ armour sets created in the Morrowind community, for its simplicity and vision alone. I had initially re-released it in an updated fashion, making the entire set modular. You do not have to wear the entire armour set. You can pick certain pieces that fits your current character build, and call it a day, without needing to be overpowered. The updated set scales perfectly, even if you wear the entire thing at level 1. You can still be one-shot wearing this set if you go to places much higher level than you are, and that was when I knew it would become the reward set for the Nerevarine, post-main quests. The current state of the Nerevarine armour set (including the most degenerate 1-handed sword) is sublime. I hope some of you decide to test this armour set in your adventures throughout Morrowind. Thankyou, lordblooper my bro, for allowing me to work with your mod, and to include it here in my own mod.

Trash Can found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/12735?tab=files
The Trash Can mechanic this mod offers works best (perhaps only) in OpenMW 0.47.0 and onward. Reason is due to OpenMW not having a saved game file size limit. There is no such thing as saved game bloat in an OpenMW environment. Thankyou for letting me include a completely re-done version of your mod, as an optional, inside of mine. I used this mod extensively as I was developing VanillaPlus QoL, and eventually decided to include it here as well. This mod is ancient (updated in 2008), and is a very fun way to delete items like clutter, quickly and easily. There are several locations you can find a Trash Can. Two such locations are in Balmora, so if you intend to use Trash Can in your mod loadout, you will be able to access the Trash Cans immediately in Balmora, and their locations are obvious, you will not be able to miss them if you look around. Thanks agian for making what I consider an historical mod that works even better in 2024 than it perhaps did in 2008.

Individual assets from other mods will be discussed in this section.
Arrow Diversity found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45236?tab=files
I was looking for a single arrow to add to my mod, and I found a whole bunch inside of this really iconic mod, made by Turelek. It was fun speaking to you, Turelek, and I humbly thank you for allowing me to use your Broadhead Arrow inside of my mod. Your arrow is doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing, and that is acting as an alternative arrow purchase source from Drizzt Do'Urden, inside of the Balmora Storage House, where he currently remains. Your works on these arrows are quite excellent. If you decide to download my mod, Turelek, I do hope you enjoy your run with it!

Daedric Crossbow found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47655?tab=files
There are occassions when I discover a weapon in any game, that is SO MUCH FUN to use! A crossbow, is about 2x faster than any bow, so I made sure to keep that in accordance to this mod you uploaded, NoUsernamesNotTaken. I have left everything untouched, except when I was doing the rigging, I made this thing quick. So quick, it is almost overbearingly fun to use over everything else! haha! Thankyou for uploading this, and if you are in touch with stripes, the author, please let him know this thing rocks, I wish him well, and I also thank him for his works. Thanks again man.

House of Spears found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/52077?tab=files
Another spear compilation, with another excellent spear mesh, that is particularly interesting in its looks, and feel, like it was already in Morrowind. Nazz, your singular spear I chose has become fit for the true Nerevarine to use, and it was you that created it. Thankyou for allowing use of your singular spear mesh and associated textures. I love the spear, and I hope others do, as well.

SM Mace of Aevar Stone-Singer Replacer found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/50054?tab=files
This dazzling mace has a white mist about it, making it look like the best it really is. That FX is what I was hoping to find on a mace, and this one is perfect. ShadowMimicry, thanks for allowing me to use this in my mod. It is fit for the Nerevarine to use always. If you plan on making other weapon meshes, either as replacers or stand-alones, I will be downloading them!

Widow Maker Crossbow (several different weapons) created by Phijama
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/55101?tab=files
...the bow you allowed me to use is amazing, thankyou!

That concludes the many Thankyous I had to give to the many wonderful Nexus Morrowind community members.

Final thoughts and recommendations.
I spent many hours, which stretched into many days, making this mod bundle, and will spend many thousands of hours using it in Morrowind proper. Many more hours and days testing it. I loved the entire process! I hope you enjoy playing with the mod, as much as I will.
Recommended mods to use alongside VanillaPlus QoL:
I have a somewhat short list of mods I use while playing Morrowind, so I will post all of them here with links, making the mods listed below as compatible.
Extra Spawn Points found here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/49049?tab=files
...there are 2 versions, one for Vvardenfell proper, and the other for Vvardenfell, TR_Mainland and Tamriel_Data. This mod adds more spawns for every existing spawn point, bringing difficulty to Morrowind based on increased monster spawns overall. I am currently using the regular Vvardenfell one, but will use the 2nd mod to include everything. The specific mod I chose to use is dup_1.esp, which adds 1 extra monster to spawn for every existing spawn point.
