Ughhh how on EARTH do I 'unzip it into an OpenMW data folder'? I think I have like 3, and they all didn't do anything to my content list when I tried them. I even tried putting it in with the other mods, and that did nothing either. HELP!!!
Using separate data directories for each of your mods is the recommended way to mod OpenMW. I assume you're not using that feature, and are just putting all your mods inside the Morrowind Data Files folder? The lua helper and VoV can be installed there as well, if you want to do that.
Assuming you put the .omwscripts and .ESP files in the same place as your other .ESP files, they should appear as options in your content list.
It's working fantastically for me :), I only have 1 (minor) complaint:
The volume of non-vanilla voices is more than double that of those added by VoV when using this mod, at least in my installation. Is there any way for me to increase the volume of the added voice lines? Not a game breaker for sure, it's still far better than it ever would have been. Just curious.
Never mind, I reloaded and it just randomly fixed itself, I havn't been able to reproduce the issue at all after that. Maybe some issue with distance calculation or something, I've got a load of mods installed.
Should be fine to update mid-save. The ESP files in the latest update are unchanged from the previous version, only the lua scripts have been modified.
If you want to be extra-cautious, only update the .lua files in \scripts\OpenMW_luahelper\ , leaving all other files untouched.
So i'm at a loss here. i got the utility. put it into data files in morrowind folder. then activated the esps. there are some lua files too. where do those go? im trying to install the voices of vanderfeld mod for omw 0.49 and i installed a mechanics one to have a hit chance and not miss all the time. that one is in a mswe\mods\something folder and its also lua files. i booted the game and i still miss all the time so i know im not doing it right. any help appreciated.
Hello if I have Tamriel Rebuilt 24.12 which patch should I use? Is it the one in the file archive section? because the optional is only for 23.10. Thanks before.
Hi, I've been advised that the TR 23.10 dialogue patch is incompatible with Tamriel Rebuilt 24.12, and should not be used with 24.12 under any circumstances.
I've uploaded a new version of the TR dialogue patch made specifically for Tamriel Rebuilt 24.12. Be advised it's an early alpha release that hasn't yet been widely tested by other players, so you may wish to avoid using it on any important save files.
For anyone who's willing to test it out, feedback on problems will be appreciated.
I don't think I've heard of anybody who managed to get this to work alongside MW Rebirth. Unfortunately, the nature of Rebirth means it will probably never work with the lua helper Dialog plugins. It re-writes too much of the existing game to be compatible.
I have the TR patch ESP added after TR_Mainland.esm in my load order.
If you are unable to add it in that location (I think MO2 blocks you from doing so), then putting it after OpenMW_luahelper_dialog.esp should work instead, as long as both ESP files are loading somewhere after TR_Mainland.esm
hey thank you for the reply, Still having trouble though after placing it in the load order as described, i wonder if i have missed a preliminary step here.
I downloaded the tamriel rebuilt voices pack and just copied it into the data folder where the other mod "voices of vvardenfel" was
and then added the lua patch for rebuilt voices after the regular patch.
If the dialog patch files load correctly, there should be two messages that appear in your game log :
"Loaded lua dialogue helper for MW TB BM InfoGetText events." "Loaded lua dialogue helper for Tamriel Rebuilt InfoGetText events."
You can read the game log in-game by pressing F10, or read it outside the game by finding the OpenMW user folder where your configuration files and save files are stored, and looking at openmw.txt
When you speak to NPC's using the dialogue window, do any messages relating to VoV voice audio appear in the F10 game log?
I know there are some voice files missing from Tamriel Rebuilt Voices, that the author still has to add. When a voice line doesn't play, if there's a message from VoV in the F10 log that says "missing line", then the patch is working fine. Just that there's no audio file to play, because it hasn't been made yet.
i have problem with this mod. ofc installed it as needed for "OpenMW Voices of Vvardenfell patch". so i will give some more details... maybe i will find out whats wrong with small help and directions.
so im using openmw 0.49 as required. copied manually sounds and textures folders from VoV mod itself plus copied folders with additional skyrim neloth and almalexia sounds. later copied manually all files and folder scripts from this mod to data folder. and at the end did the same with patch mod.
i've set in openmw launcher plugins as requested (dialog esp right after dlc and tried 2 variants with left 3 files loading right after dialog esp and then whole rest of mods, and second variant putting all 3 of them at the end of load order) but everytime i have same bad results.
game runs. but the VoV is not working at all. script tab in options doesnt show at all anything new. pressing f10 shows that something went wrong with loading files from this mod and later ofc patch mod. heres the screenshot: https://ibb.co/s5bd9vQ
should i just try to re-download the mod or is it something with my installation skills? ;D i will appreciate any advices or tips
Hi, some of those error messages look like something has gone wrong with the configuration files for OpenMW. Are you using an external Mod Manager app to manage your OpenMW mods?
actually not for morrowind. for other games yes (mostly vortex) but not for morrowind. i use only openmw launcher.
i was thinkin it can be something with maybe openmw installation itself. maybe that scripts are just fked because of some error. but i have other scripted mods that work perfectly fine. maybe it is some kind of mod set that i didnt notice as conflicting mods. i will post all my other plug-ins just in case:
not much of modsas u can see. i was trying to figure out if some of them maybe change something in generic dialog but i didnt found anything ;/ didnt have time yet to redownload and reinstall this mods (vov, lua helper, patch) but definately will try. lucky i always make copy of whole morrowind directory before installing any mods. idk tho if its mods problem or as u said something with openmw cfg files...
thank you for answer and sacrificing your own time to try figure it out ;) good man
im so sorry. i just realised that i had 0.48 openmw. so no wonders it was not working :D now i remember i installed official 0.48 release not unreleased 0.49. sorry for the mess ;/ i will come back to this mod for 100% after official release of 0.49 ;)
propably many ppl who have problems with this mods are in same situation as me ;/ because of "thinkin" that latest released version must be the one in description of mod, because installed it a week ago :D ehhhh lessons learned ;)
Is it worth to install it on OpenMW 0.48? I have your VoV patch and not all of the lines are spoken by the NPCs. I suppose, the culprit is the lack of this mod?
Note that all OpenMW 0.49 releases are unofficial releases primarily intended for testing purposes. They are mostly stable and reliable in general play, and a lot of people are perfectly fine with using it, but the only release that's guaranteed fully tested is the official OpenMW 0.48.

Still only some lines are playing and not others and it seems like its the ones added by the mod
