Maybe someone has run into a similar problem - I was using this mod fine until I decided to try the optional files. Didn't like them playing with creatures, so I attempted to change them. Now, I get a fatal crash any time I try to walk. Also swinging sword. (OpenMW .49)Thought this was related to CSO, but reinstalling doesn't help. I tried replacing the files as they were with this mods optional files, and when that didn't work, the vanilla three files. No luck figuring out what went wrong any help would be appreciated, I couldn't find any results googling for sound effect crashes.
Edit: I don't think it was related. But for anyone having this same issue it was a corrputed input file in the OpenMW documents folder. Just delete and let the game regenerate it.
Hi, came back here to comment. A year ago I was trying to convince my sound-designer friend to try and make a general-purpose step sounds for Morrowind that will sound ok for any surface type... he wasn't interested and more or less told me that they probably wouldn't sound good anyway without a proper way to change sounds based on a surface type. Well, in my humble opinion you did it, these steps sound good everywhere. Maybe they don't match some surfaces perfectly, but they are waaay above and beyond vanilla steps that sound bad practically everywhere. Thanks a lot, it a huge immersion improvement!
