Good lord, you wrote A LOT OF DIALOGUE wow, I was expecting just a message saying thank you for collecting Sermons A and B but you added your own commentary for all of them. This was probably the biggest scavenger hunt I ever went through in Morrowind. Great mod as always! But I want to ask, after I collected all 36 Lessons, when I ask the priest about the lessons again, he just asks how my assignment going, and the quest is never exactly completed, just stays there in the journal, is there supposed to be something the priest says after you collect and give all of them? Like congratulating the player?
An excellent mod/quest so far. Really impressed by the utility of this. Like others have said, this quest should have been part of the original game.
The cryptic 36 Lessons are one of the (many) reasons Morrowind is better than modern games and why the game lore is so captivating. Many players have multiple playthroughs under their belts but have never read all of the Lessons. This mod is a seamless fix for that.
Whether or not it after reading them all it enhances your understanding of them is another question. I'm not sure my understanding is much more having tried to write some commentary on each one! I was absolutely just making up nonsense for a lot of them..
Another Temple related quest mod in the works now..
I really came here to say that Freja (my L2) is trying this. I got vols 1 and 2 OK but then realised that some would be quite difficult for Freja... and then I realised that Freja doesn't have to do them in order, or collect all of them and best of all can take them back as they are found. And the rewards are excellent! I think this is shaping up to be a lot of fun...
And you're right - The Lessons are interesting and strange... a bit like The Cloud of Unknowing with every fourth word erased...
Anyway, thank you for another quest that doesn't feel as if it has time factored in and can be attempted by anyone regardless of ability, armour etc etc.
I know you describe this as a 'giant fetch' but it's taken me four days in RL to complete using Freja who was L2 when I started this and is now L5 thanks to all of the skills gained gathering the tomes; and a lot of running away. I didn't do them in order and I thought that Taba-Dan was going to give me a paperback copy of the complete works once I'd completed the quest. However, his final gift was more generous and I know where to go to read them in any case.
It really is a fun quest. Low level characters can pick the easier ones to obtain because some of those books are extremely difficult to get hold of for one reason or another. It's a very satisfying quest! I'm really not sure that in game I've ever located all 36 volumes. So,thank you again!
PS I was much amused by his comments about Nords... Freja is Nord...
I can't believe you actually spent the time to specifically go and do this quest! Impressive! Perhaps I should have included locations of the sermons as found in Tamriel Rebuilt as well..
That's quite a neat idea for a little update: the collected works in one volume. (I should point out at this stage that I do literally have a printed copy of the 36 Lessons..)
He was a proper Dunmer nationalist, certainly. Those demon Nords!
Was thinking it would be. I was more wondering if this mod specially places copies of the 36 lessons or the collection quest simply makes it so any copy would do.
I didn't know about this. Yes, they can definitely be used alongside each other, and probably would be good to do so. My mod doesn't add any books to the world, it just adds a quest to collect them.

Could you use "GetJournalIndex, val_lessons" in the console and tell me what you get? Should be 85, which turns to 90 once construction begins.
Glad you thought it was worthwhile though. Will be even more worthwhile hopefully when you see the display area!
I have no idea whether it is compatible with BCOM.

If anything I see it as a complement to 'Collecting The Thirty-Six Lessons of Vivec'
