After much testing, as I reported in the bug reports. Only using this mod. With a clean install of Morrowind and a updated Openmw dev build (0.49)
This mod does not work at all, (the stuck text issue I reported).
But as "Acst" below commented. After installing the mod "(OpenMW 0.49) trav's OpenMW Books Enhanced" by Trav5. The mod now works, the only issue I have left. Dont know about Acst? But for me, while I gonna named a title or just write a text. The letter (E) sometimes close the book/scroll. Tho it feels almost random when it wont close and will close, before I am finished.
So I could try to write, "Book one" as a title. As soon I press E. I close the book/scroll window. But other time I could spam the letter E and noting happens??? I dont understand it haha.
Tho the only guess? Is after I installed the (OpenMW 0.49) trav's OpenMW Books Enhanced mod, I notice I no longer can use the Tab key, to flip between etc the "Take", "Close" or "Next/Previous" keys. Unsure if I can do something about that. Gonna ask on his mod page as well.
So I guess I would recommend talking to Trav5 or just take a look on the mod yourself MomokeCome? As I have no experience modding. :D
Hope this helps you out! Anyone else here trying out the mod, with the same issue.
Thank you, you broke my game Who in the world names "Data Files" folder to "Data_Files"? Now my mobile morrowind with such a good packs of mods that I collected and installed summary about 2 weeks is destroyed. My zombie apocalypse with farming, baking, NPCs comes alive, tamriel rebuild, strange island on the north with access to future, some silly like scooma addict and a lot of little quality of life mods is wanished because of ONE little mod that weights 8 kilobytes :( I just wanted to start making some notes in game. Like a reminder, list to do, everything was good, very good, non of the mods didn't conflict with each other but I downloaded this one and everything is collapsed.
First errors was: OpenMW: Fatal error Game settings 'fSwimHeightScale' not found
Then I tried to fix it deactivating and deleting mod files also changing openMW folder of game resources and returning it back. Now this is what I got: OpenMW: Fatal error NPC 'player' not found
Nice, I guess openmw.cfg just broken now And I can't access to this file because it's in app itself, mobile morrowind. In game folder I have only data files and morrowind.ini
Just whyyyyy universe, whyyyyy I was so happy playing the game, getting fun and happiness, my modded progress, level 24... I don't wanna play the game from start again I don't wanna fully reinstall all of it((( All game files All mods... One... By... One... From nexusmods, waiting when it will all downloaded, waiting these 5 seconds of free downloading Then checking if it conflicts or not.
Well now I think that happened because author typed that recommended version of openmw is 0.49 Mobile one is 0.48 Somehow it's changed the rules in openmw files and without them the game cannot open, game cannot find files that doesn't exist in 0.48. I hope so, because idk what exactly was the reason of that error.
Ughhhhhh, I need to relax from game now, about four days, then with new powers start with a clean slate:((((
I'm so nervous I'm going to explode. Good morning, day or night btw.
OpenMW team haven't deharcored journal yet so still no way to edit journal :( But maybe it's possible to add journal infos in a book named journal in the player inventory.
I was just wondering that. Just circumnavigate the issue entirely by having a separate "journal" in your inventory that you can edit. Plus while I like the regular journals dialogue, I would love to have a journal that I can have reflect my own character's "character".
That's kind of what I want to reflect my characters archs and story coming to terms with being nerwvar despite not wanting the title. He is a quarter dunner raised by an argonian shamen women after his parents died tragically. His grandmother was a telvanni that thought she was nervarine but wasn't an died when he was 3.
About the difficulty to find blank books and scrolls : It seems that you put the items directly in the NPC inventory. As far as I remember, the good practice is to put them in a container owned by the npcs. Personally I would put some at Arrile to allow benefit from the mod since the first days... But it's a nice try for a long awaited feature, thanks :)
Yeah I went to the one bookseller that I've never spoken to and still no blank books or scrolls. This just doesn't seem to work installing mid-save. I used a test character to try writing in one and it worked just fine tho. Just gotta start a new character to get a hold of one.
I downloaded the update and the booksellers still didn't have the blank books or scrolls. Then I had an idea, I used OpenMw to spawn a default new character in Ald'Rhun and went straight to the bookseller and he had them. I think you have the items not set to restock so maybe that's why installing on a current save won't let me buy them? I waited on my real save for a day and they still didn't show in their inventory, only when I visited them with a new character did they offer them. Maybe if I find a bookseller I've never bartered with they would offer them on my current save. Will test and try to remember to post results.
Omg I almost lost hope of finding a mod like this for OpenMW, THANK YOU!
I am carrying a character with a very complex story over from ESO to Morrowind, and I really wanted to keep track of it all in a lore-friendly way. Thank you!

One thing I noticed is that the mod did not work for me until I installed (OpenMW 0.49) trav's OpenMW Books Enhanced. No idea why
My mod only runs with 0.49.

But yeah it's for openMW0.49.
Ask in the openMW discord, probably somebody could help you to restore your game state.

bought one of each from him. they don't work, though. no way to edit them.
Do you have the .ownscripts enable?
Do you play with openMW 0.49?
You have to put the book in the world and then take it.

Now all booksellers in the base game should sell them.
You need blank book or blank scroll. You can find them in book shops.
