Hi Kezyma, I'm trying to learn more about Leaflet.js and how this tool implements the HTML file, but I'd like to avoid the hassle of running CreateMaps until I need to 😅
I was wondering if you could post an example file of the tool's output for Morrowind + Bloodmoon, which includes the map.html file and the set of numbered folders containing each layer of the map?
I'm guessing this will probably be a large file to upload to Nexus. If it's easier, just uploading the HTML file would be really helpful to me so I can analyse it 🙂
Copy Morrowind.exe, Data Files and Maps from your game folder to another location and point map builder to there. It looks like the tool doesn't like the (x86) in the game's file path!
I can only really speculate, but I'd try disabling all mods first to confirm that it's not one of them causing it. Every crash I ever managed to get was due to a mod, perhaps something loads fine when you walk into the cell, but a script triggers incorrectly when you coc to the cell?
Other than that, maybe keep task manager open on a second monitor and check if ram usage is maxxed out during map generation, I think it clears up as it goes, since I never had problems with it, but perhaps there's something causing a memory leak!
Wow a Gmap of morrowind !! this look incredible good ! the level of zoom and quality is impressive. By any chance do you plan to port your tool for other games ? Would be particularly helpfull for me for FO3/FNV.
I'd like to, but I've never been able to get the Oblivion, Fallout 3 or Fallout NV map export from the creation kit and GECK to work for me. If anyone helps me figure out how to do that nicely, I'll rewrite this to work for all of them!
A really neat idea. Problem with laptops and the fact that we are dependent on using MGE XE in order to use our good (Nvidia/AMD)-graphics cards as the launcher only accepts the crappy in-built card despite setting the launcher and Morrwowind.exe to start with the high-performance card in the Nvidia-Settings. I started it, following your instructions to the tee (inlcuding the low resolution) and after 10 minutes it had created a single map for an empty water tile, so I abortet.
I'm honestly not really sure. You can enable MGE XE again and try with that, it should still work but the water will be a white colour.
It's generally pretty slow at the best of times as it is, I run it with an RTX 4070ti and I'm still popping off for a coffee while it generates all the maps, so with an inbuilt card, I can imagine it would take quite a while!

Do you have any tips on speeding that up?
