About this mod

A traveling bard spins a story of love and loss by magically casting you as the lead role. Act out the tragic tale as words come to life. Who knows? Maybe you'll even get to write the ending.

  Features

A Familiar Song is a narrative quest mod guided by the tales of a mysterious traveling bard. Look out for a pensive Dunmer on the Dwemer bridge near Fort Moonmoth to get started.

This quest takes a unique approach to gameplay, as you'll quickly discover. I don't recommend using a fresh level 1 character - it's probably better to start once you hit the level 5-10 range.

Depending on how you approach the ending, you might end up with a very unique scripted magic item and a once-daily power, in addition to a few other odds and ends.

There will be a full spoilery walkthrough available on the forum tab. Also, please report any bugs that you find.

Thanks for playing!

 Considerations

Audio settings might affect the impact of certain scenes. I recommend having your effects audio somewhat higher than your music audio, within reason.

This is a narrative-heavy, romantic quest with a lot of dialogue. It also includes one or two instances of challenging combat. Adjust your expectations accordingly.

Don't read the comments if you're worried about spoilers.

Known Mod Conflicts

Any mods that change your weapon attack sounds will require version 1.1 and beyond, along with either MWSE or OpenMW (v0.49 development build or beyond).
