What this mod does?

Roleplay motivation sounds like this:
When you die, you either
  • "quietly crawl away" (RP explanation: you are pretending like you're dead, but you're not)
  • "keep quiet" (RP explanation: companion has almost finished the opponent, and will help you soon)
  • die
Some items are lost, some are damaged, but at least you're alive.
You may return to collect your dropped items once you're good enough.

How it works?

- when you die
- drop and/or damage some items
- optionally, add note to the journal about it
- then depending on where are you
- if in exterior cell
- then pick handful of statics around (statics like trees, rocks, etc)
- find free place around some random static
- when free place is found, teleport player to it
- or if in interior cell
- then find an exit to the exterior cell and teleport you to it
- likely, it will be the door out of the dungeon/cave
- set HP to 5
- optionally, apply short term invisibility/chameleon so you can actually run away

Big kudos to JaceyS and their mod Timely Escape: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/48013
I've taken it as a foundation, and replaced intervention logic with the mentioned teleporting logic.

Penalty in this mod is dropping and/or damaging the items. I've removed lowering skills and attributes as a penalty.

Also, I believe I've improved "kill blow detection" logic in Timely Escape. Sometimes, Timely Escape made my character dead even though it is supposed to be teleported away. With my mod, I think it should be more stable.

Known issues.

Sometimes, you get teleported on top of the roof, or on the top of a tree.
This is "feature not a bug" because there is no any filtering based on what kind of static it is: tree, lantern, rock, grass, roof, etc.
Immerse yourself into it, roleplay it like "you saved your life because enemy got distracted, and you managed to climb up on the building nearby" :)

Sometimes, the killing blow is still missed. If this happens, share your Morrowind/MWSE.log - lines starting with "ZdoImmersiveDeath" should help investigate it.
