I like how you choose specific textures that really make everything around it "work". I use intelligent textures - but sometimes everything starts looking too much the same - having a particular formation not be exactly the same monolithic texture as all those around it - does something really cool.
yes, which also can become a problem with pattern repetition. i don't think the var1 rock texture would work as the cave wall texture. maybe i'll try to put the var1 rock texture 4 times inside the 4096 texture, but leave only 1 instance of those non monolithic features.
