The point south of Almas Thirr should allow people to reach Narsis, but there's always the chance that there are other obstacles on the river so we'll just have to see what happens.
And yeah I'm hype af for Grasping Fortune. I've been on a Morrowind break after exhausting the content in Anvil and I have a new PC so it's the perfect time to rebuild my modlist and remake one of my favorite characters.
If the river turns out to be non-navigable, I'll make a patch to ensure that it can be navigated. But hopefully the TR crew will just make sure that it is, given that Narsis is obviously an important trade hub..
Indeed. It's a shame that Almas Thirr was not possible to pass! I did actually start fiddling about once seeing if I could move stuff around to make it passable, but I'd have ended up breaking things. Hence why I made the travel point.
However, if the river to Narsis isn't navigable, I will definitely do what I can to fix that.
So happy to see my mod still alive after all these years. I am glad people have enjoyed it, and it has even been translated into a few languages. As I had not published it to Nexusmods (I don't think it was a thing back then) and I have lost the original files, I am glad to see it has been preserved and even improved upon. Fishing Academy mod should also be credited; as that is where I grabbed the original scripts from, although I did modify them heavily.
Wow! Very glad to see you are still around! I am pretty sure it wasn't long after you created Stormrider that I found it, and have enjoyed it very much since then, so thank you. Making some minor tweaks to give it greater integration with the expanded lands since released just felt like something I had to do. Try Project Cyrodiil's Kingdom of Anvil questline with the use of Stormrider. In my opinion, it's how it was meant to be played! And, just cruising slowly along the coast of Cyrodiil while walking around on deck: priceless.
I will add a credit for Fishing Academy.
Having now released a few mods all of my own making, it is a really nice feeling that you have created something that might be enjoyed by varied people for years to come.
Not new to modding, but new to Morrowind Modding (haven't actually played this game since launch on xbox or something.....). So many cool mods- i figured there was no way there would be a working ship...... kudos to you, sir. My dream of trading on the high seas of Tamriel has come true. I'm just now starting to make VERY minor mods but it's cool to see what can be done once I kinda know what I'm doing. Thanks!
And if trading on the high seas is your thing, then I strongly suggest you use my updated version of Buying Game, which includes regional pricing mechanics, meaning that you can actually buy low, sell high. As pathetic as it is, one of my favourite ever characters was with Buying Game, buying up cheap-ish Imperial weapons/armour/drinks in Old Ebonheart, transporting them via Stormrider to Firewatch/Helnim and other Imperial places where they were in short supply and selling for a profit.
Of course now you're going to tell me you use OpenMW, which sadly I have to say is probably a mistake, as all the best immersion mods are MWSE.
The shipwrights didn't appear for me either, then I realized I had to start a new game. If other people can't find them this could be the issue.
Other than that I also have the problem with black screens but I've found that quicksave-quickload fixes the black screen, then you just have to use the teleport ring to catch up with the ship. Not ideal but it works.
As much as I adore this mod, I think I'm going to have to stop using it for the time being. It's way too crash-happy. The fast travel menu crashes 50% of the time it's opened, exiting an interior cell to the deck as a 50% chance of crashing, and shallow water detection the same as the others. It's really exhausting and gets to the point where I'd rather just walk or find paid transport than wonder when (not if) it'll crash. That, and the ship lost its ability to be sailed altogether, with the interaction button on the deck just doing nothing now. Loading to an earlier save was the only solution.
The next time it crashes I'll try and share my log, then I'll stop using it until hopefully they get resolved.
EDIT: Just in case, I want to clarify there's no shade or blame here. You didn't make the mod, you just revived it. It's positively ancient code that probably has a thousand things that could be done better with it if had been started today.
the controls are very touchy w, a, s, d and if i use the s key to turn right it speeds up the ship or boat is there a way to change the keys for speed control? and to make less touchy
That´s an amazing mod for sure, thank you for the work! unfortunately fast travel is impossible on OpenMW cause the screen just goes black after selecting the destination, but i found out that using the teleport ring and them getting out you are spawned in the destination without the ship, so i was wondering, its possible to use a console command or something to teleport the ship to my location? that would make fast travel possible on OpenMW again thank you for the mod i love it even with this minor inconvenience :)
As far as I know there would be no way to move the ship without moving it yourself. Sorry.
Is it the fast travel for the ship and the boat that is not working in OpenMW? I don't think the fast travel for the boat even works in vanilla - it also goes to a black screen.
Hey, just letting you know that I couldn't find any NPC selling ships in Anvil shipworks, but inside the EEC offices in Ebonheart there were two copies of Corrudus Olcinius. Buying the ship from either of them worked.
The ship itself seems to work fine, but using the ship fast travel fades to a black screen that never goes away.
I'm afraid I don't have a copy of it myself. In MASH, if you just unselect the PC esm from Stormrider's master list and then save the mod, does that work?
Seriously. Do you want me to give you his coordinates? Go and look for him. He's in the shipworks, and there is only one shipworks, and if memory serves there are just four NPCs in there including him. Given that one of them is female, that gives you a 33% chance of getting it right first time.
Jeeeeez, I'm glad you're commenting like this so the community really knows who they should and shouldn't be working with... I just asked 2 simple questions, I don't get what all the fuss is about, if it was too much hassle for you to reply then you shouldn't have bothered in the first place mate.
Corrundus Olcinius. he is in the shipworks on the 1st floor. go up the stairs and its the second door to the left. coc "anvil, shipworks" if you want to check the mod works quickly.
I gave you all the information you needed (though it's in the readme anyway). So yes. You're right. Sorry. I'm really not interested in helping somebody who clearly can't help themselves.
For the record: There are five NPCs, three of them are women, and none of them are named "Corrundus Olcinius". Edit: I had an old version of the mod from a modpack. I also had to select the "Background" or "My Trade" topics to buy the ship.
"I also had to select the "Background" or "My Trade" topics to buy the ship."
Heaven forfend that you actually have to do something! Sorry that I didn't make a mod where an NPC follows you around like a whipped dog trying to thrust a ship onto you!

PS: To say that I'm excited for the next release would be an understatement..

Please add the last pre -Project Cyrodiil version of the mod, for compatibility issues in older saves.

FFS. People.....
Also, the horror:
