Would this need an update for TR 24.12?

Just a comment on " in Mages Guild intelligence is more important than willpower". I'm not sure this is consistent with what we see in the game. See who the guild master is.

Fair point. I'm gonna switch Mages Guild and Telvanni around, so Telvanni's gonna be ones big on intelligence in the next version.

I would personally think it's weird to have one single main attribute limit your progress. I think you can find in every guild how different characters advanced through different means: some are good with their words and making the right connections, others through achievements, etc. Maybe an option could be to make this single attribute roadblock optional, because I guess it's very easy to find examples of "but guy A in guild B doesn't have stat X that high...".

EDIT: To clarify, I'm saying this because I think your assessment of the mages guild valuing academic achievements is consistent with what we see in-game; but in practice it's not something that acts as a limitation on a member's progression, given that a member has other means to progress. I would also find it weird that willpower would become the limit stat for the mages guild when every guild master stresses the academic achievement part. So I guess I just think the single limiting stat isn't lore friendly.

I agree, but in practice there isn't a way to make a realistic system for this which would be in scope of this mod (and the scope of this mod is whatever I can actually do). The game just looks at numbers for attribute 1 and attribute 2 and if they are both higher you can get an advancement. Sure, you can set them to the same value, but then it'll have to be lower requirement since attributes aren't that easy to come by, and being an archmage with 50/50 intelligence and willpower is kinda meh. It's a shame attributes don't work like skills where it looks at your highest three.

All right, that's fair, I assumed the requirements could be more easily modified by setting some logical conditions in morrowind's scripting language.

That might as well be the case, I just don't know. I do think this stuff is hard-coded, gotta check it out.
