There are Alternatives to Graverobbing - Fishing for Rings
Avoiding graverobbing in Morrowind can be frustrating. Aside from the sizeable amount of dungeons and generic loot found within which are off-limits, there are a handful of unique artifacts which can only be found within tombs. Using Merlord's Ultimate Fishing this mod redistributes three of those unique items—the Mentor's Ring, the Ring of Phynaster, and Denstagmer's Ring—to the waters of Morrowind where they may be found by lucky fishers.

The chance to fish up a ring is fairly small, so it may take several attempts to snag one. Using a sinker for bait is recommended to improve your odds, but it will still likely take longer than just walking into the tomb and grabbing it in the base game.
