Hey abot, Regarding addBoundSpells = true, -- true = add a bound weapon spell to daedra bipeds I clicked on a cursed item and the Dremora Lord that spawned behind me just stood there waiting not attacking. After i tried to "getfight" on him my game crashed. However when i reloged the game since i quicksaved he started summoning the bound spells and attacking. Is this a known bug or is it interacting w/ something else? I am also using Ultra AI by Arcimag but i checked my merged objects and it lists dremora lord combat at 90 meaning he should prolly attack me on sight anyway?
It could be some once-in-awhile hiccup with actor initialization, often secondary effects of low-memory situations, sometimes symptoms are the spawned/moved actor AI seems to not react correctly or the actor looks bad/with transparent parts. Try restarting the game (to be sure to free as much memory as possible) and load a save right before entering the related cell, if the same problem still happens on a fresh loaded game it could be some conflict to further investigate else it is most likely a memory-nearly-full problem (the most frequent one with big loading lists, can have all sort of collateral effects even well before crashing)
You were right, it was a low memory crash. When i restarted the game everything worked normally. Any tips on how to futureproof it? Ive got 64gb ram on my PC but its useless if MOrrowind is only using 4gb. Any tips on reducing memory usage so the game doesnt crash?
If you have at least 8Giga of video card RAM the 1st thing to try is be sure to have MGE-XE option "reduce texture memory use" enabled. Then you can try reducing mipmap levels/quality of other options when you generate distant land.
Installing the Memory Monitor MWSE-Lua mod should often give alerts when memory is low.
Other than this, as usual you can try removing some of the less important mods, but that is always subjective
Thanks for the tips! I think ill try reducing the distant land things, i run with 60 draw distance and god knows how many statics so thats probably something that adds to the memory problem
