About this mod

Tarhiel's Tower is a player home for TES III: Morrowind. It's located just across the bay from Seyda Neen. Like Svellheim, it's a bit of a mixed bag architecturally. I tried to combine the Imperial and Telvanni styles to some degree without the result standing out too much from the lore or location.

Background
------------------
Like many of you, I saw some poor fool drop out of the sky during my first hour playing Morrowind many, many years ago. I recently decided to go back for a playthrough and made myself a nice little house to call home for the duration. I figured Tarhiel was probably going somewhere and 'fell' a little short... ha! Anyway, I plotted a path from the community's best guess at his starting point (somewhere just NE of Caldera, perhaps?) and then took the liberty of adjusting by a few degrees to plant a mushroom (and attached player home) that old Tarhiel may have planned to land on. He never made it home, but you can!!

-------
Intro
-------
The idea was to put together something aesthetically different while still providing a sense of immersion for varying future play throughs. There's nothing overly fancy at work here and it shouldn't require anything other than the game and expansions. Still, no fancy scripts for placing items or any of that this time around. Morrowind lets you do that easily enough so I have just left a lot of space for those who like to horde and display what they find along the way.

-------------
Features
-------------
Nothing over the top here but there are a few things that I think are at least a little unique to Tarhiel's Tower.

- Architecture is my attempt at blending the Imperial and Telvanni styles.
(I think it worked out okay, but it's matter of taste, I suppose)

- There's a sink with water in it! It doesn't do anything, but it's there.

- There's a portal at the top of the tower that "taps" into the Mages Guild transport system. Exits in Balmora Guild.

- There's a boat that takes you across the bay to Seyda Neen and another to take you back again!

- There's not too much else, a balcony, kitchen, bedroom, and tower. I tried to give it a unique feel and enough room     display treasures while still remaining small enough to be considered kind of cozy.

No mods should be required, however they are used in the screenshots. So, if you don't have a grass mod, for instance, you won't see grass like in the screenshots.

---------
Install
---------
Just place the .ESP where all the other .ESP's are in your Morrowind game directory.
It's the Morrowind\Data folder and don't forget to activate the mod using the launcher
before starting the game.

For Steam users, that would be something like:   C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Morrowind\Data Files

---------
Outro
---------
I made this for myself but thought that it would be nice to share (especially since this one appears to work well, unlike some of my older Morrowind mods =p). I have put around 100+ in game days on a character using this house without any issues and hopefully the same will be true for anyone who would like to use it also.

---------
Notes
---------
Well, Morrowind is only about 21 years old so...  For anyone who, like myself, still likes to go back and revisit the classics from time to time, I hope this helps to breathe some tiny amount of new life into it for you.

Issues finding the key?
If the key isn't showing up where it's supposed to but you really want it (or you RP a character that doesn't use lockpicking or illusion magic), this may help.

Open the console using the tilde ~ key and type:

player->AddItem "Va1_Tarhiel_key" 1

Alternatively, you could open the console in front of one of the doors, click the door, and then type: unlock

Hopefully that helps out a little for anyone who, like myself, can be a little particular about things. I think it disappears if certain loot tables are altered by other mods, OAAB would be a good example, but it could also just be that I messed something up while placing it.

Special Thanks

Dramallama - For always encouraging me to actually finish these little projects of mine!

Sonja - For bringing the key issue to my attention and also making my day by letting me know it works rather well with Ashfall =)
