The higher the hero's fame in Morrowind, the easier it is for the assassins to track him down. The Dark Brotherhood will start attacking you after reaching 5 reputation (configurable). The minimum time between attacks is 12 hours (configurable). The strength and number of assassins is randomized with each attack. After a series of 3 unsuccessful assassination attempts, the Dark Brotherhood will begin to send more and more powerful assassins. Starting from the tenth attack, you will always fight with 3 strong assassins. The attacks will not stop until the Dark Brotherhood is destroyed.
