   Are there any settings I can tweak to make the flames render from further away?
   
   For some reason they are always one of the last things to render in so I have to be close(ish) to the palace to actually see them.

      No idea about this, you should propably check with the main mod. This is just a simple texture, no other things changed.

   I made a variant, for personal use, way back then when we released the big flame mesh. I think Vegetto discared it because he didn't like it but I'm still using it today. In case there's some interest I can upload it somewhere.
