tl;dr: This is hands down the best dungeon mod ever made for Morrowind.

After many hours of play time and loaded with epic, meaningful loot, I finally managed to finish playing through this mod. Especially if you're looking around for all of the secrets hidden in the ridiculously detailed areas of this mod, plan to spend a lot of time down there (and go prepared!). You've played Seelof dungeons before but he's taken those experiences and cranked them up to 1,000. While being heavily Diablo-inspired, Seelof did an excellent job fitting this into existing lore through clever ambiguity and molding the Skeleton King's persona into the Elder Scrolls universe.

I won't spoil the questline, but the closing comments from people at the Priory really was the icing on the cake. It's a detail many modders might forego in an already impressive dungeon delving experience. But the "wrap up" was thought provoking (particularly if you read between the lines) and leaves you wanting a "Part 2". I found that I formed an emotional link to the characters and this place. It isn't one of those quest mods where you play it and then disable it. This can be a permanent part of your game.

If we ever get a better dungeon mod, it will truly have to be something extraordinary. This seems nigh impossible to beat.

It's still morning here, but you have already made my day, Melchior! Thank you for this beautiful review and for the feedback you gave me over on MMC! Making this mod was a lot of fun, and it got me working together with many different modders, which makes it really special to me. I hope people will enjoy it as much as you have!

Odd bug I'm having. Whenever I place the Skeleton Kings Crown out into the world, when I go to pick it up it adds weight to my inventory but not an item. All the other pieces work fine, but it for some reason, when picked up as an object in the world, stops existing. I can move it from the world into a container, such as a dresser in the Priory. But then once I move it into my inventory? Poof.

Incredible work. I may have used the construction set to find the hardest to reach items, and even with it I stuggled getting the boner weapon. Secrets are my favorite part of fan made mods.

Congratz on finding the silly and not meant to be found easteregg :D
  4. Painfully average, The mod starts out great and does a good job at setting up it's mystery with the only issue being the odd balancing, am I supposed to play this at level 20 or level 40? Because the enemies are extremely weak especially for level 20 but the butcher gives you weapons on par with daedric gear? Huh? But other than that it starts out good, but then everything falls apart during the latter half. The mod reuses the played out oblivion trope, it does the same s#*! the horror mod did where it plays a shitty "atmospheric" horror track 24/7 which gets repetitive instantly, not only are the enemies a slog to fight because of the sheer amount of them there are and the game crashes when exiting the weird snake skeleton room. What the hell? As if that wasn't enough the halls of the damned are ugly and not fun to get through. It's just repetitive as hell. Here look, the mod is really well made and the environments aside from the awful halls of the damned do look really good and almost stunning but the gameplay is not there at all. Don't forget a little issue in the plot, why didn't the butcher just kill chalda's friend instead of killing him immediately? What? Idfk man.

First of all, please don't call something "shitty" that others have put in a lot of time and effort to create. Thank you. (Needless to say, I strongly disagree with the underlying assessment about the music's quality.)

Second of all, you might at least want to pay some attention before you allege things like "it's just one track that plays over and over again" or "there is a plothole omfg".

Third, if you dislike Morrowind's core gameplay of exploring and fighting, maybe you'd be happier with a different game.

can't emphasize what experience this brought to me...
Actually downloaded a modlist and I passed this abbey thrice and would not have considered this to be a big thing.

But it actually bound me for a whole week and that tower really frustrated me. Well I never had such a hard time of affection in Morrowind and I'm obligated to laud you thousand times for your work.

You wouldn't happen to know if your BCOM Rocky West Gash is compatible with Randompal's Stonewood Pass? I get some land overlap over the bridge

I'm not sure. Does Stonewood Pass itself require a patch for BCOM Rocky West Gash? If so, my guess is no. But then again, all I did here is remove a few rocks in the priory's cell. I have no idea how the patch would play with Stonewood Pass.

Is there a spoiler guide somewhere on location of items? Or at least a list of items per location? I stumbled upon the levitation amulet by sheer accident so now I am worried that I am missing majority of the cool loot

The most interesting items are the ones you receive from doing the quests. For those,  you can check the walkthrough in the download archive. A guide on how to find every single item in the mod does not exist, and I won't write one because that would be incredibly tedious.

Loading this after Rebirth creates a ground seam unfortunately, but loading it before seems to fix it? Not sure if the script breaks though due to the region being renamed, could you make a patch please?

I'm sorry, but if you are using Rebirth, you will just have to accept the fact that it is incompatible with most other mods.

Hmm, I thought it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Load Caldera Priory first, MR after it, and a little patch that renames the region -3,3 to "Caldera Priory" (which I made for myself) last; Thus there are no ground seams, and the place is properly called Caldera Priory in-game. That should be correct, right? I didn't notice any other problems, other than the wide building standing a little taller inside a rock formation, but it only adds to the "abandoned" vibe imo.

But a patch won't stop Rebirth from overriding the ground textures, meaning they won't fit with the priory. Feel free to upload your (sort of) patch ESP to the Nexus, but I'm not interested to host it. The only way to achieve true compatability that I can think of would be to open Rebirth in Enchanted Editor and remove all the edits it makes to WG 3,-3 (which would be very easy and quick to do btw).

Version 2.0.1 is up. It fixes an issue for OpenMW users where two of the new side quests added by v2.0 would not work. If you are on OpenMW and already downloaded v2.0, please make sure to update to the latest version. Apologies for the inconvenience.

EDIT: No longer a sticky because I feel enough time has passed for people to catch up.

Are you updating any of your other work? Just wondering if I should hold off on a playthrough

If you haven't started the quest line, then it should be safe, yes. But as always with these things, best be on the even safer side and make a backup of your save game.

I'm guessing he's seeing: Expression Error Unable to find cell id "Caldera Priory" in script SLF_CP_restore_priory long with a hard crash.

I'm flagging this comment just because it's easy to avoid, and mentioned in the instructions. Move Caldera Priory.esp down low in the load order along with most other quest mods. He was breaking scripts and Morrowind freaked out.
