tl;dr: This is hands down the best dungeon mod ever made for Morrowind.
After many hours of play time and loaded with epic, meaningful loot, I finally managed to finish playing through this mod. Especially if you're looking around for all of the secrets hidden in the ridiculously detailed areas of this mod, plan to spend a lot of time down there (and go prepared!). You've played Seelof dungeons before but he's taken those experiences and cranked them up to 1,000. While being heavily Diablo-inspired, Seelof did an excellent job fitting this into existing lore through clever ambiguity and molding the Skeleton King's persona into the Elder Scrolls universe.
I won't spoil the questline, but the closing comments from people at the Priory really was the icing on the cake. It's a detail many modders might forego in an already impressive dungeon delving experience. But the "wrap up" was thought provoking (particularly if you read between the lines) and leaves you wanting a "Part 2". I found that I formed an emotional link to the characters and this place. It isn't one of those quest mods where you play it and then disable it. This can be a permanent part of your game.
If we ever get a better dungeon mod, it will truly have to be something extraordinary. This seems nigh impossible to beat.
It's still morning here, but you have already made my day, Melchior! Thank you for this beautiful review and for the feedback you gave me over on MMC! Making this mod was a lot of fun, and it got me working together with many different modders, which makes it really special to me. I hope people will enjoy it as much as you have!
This mod rocks. Thought it was quaint at first. "Oh I killed the butcher, that was a neat mod. Pretty short though." hahahaha.... no but seriously this is legit. I'm stuck at the last boss, but I haven't beaten all the side quests yet so I'll go and do those, get stronger, then come back and hopefully kick his ass. Thanks for all the hard work, this is the most fun I've had in a mod in a long time.
Is it possible to have the details of the quest status please ? I'm stuck and would like to use the command journal "SLF_CP_AKingsArmor" x to unblock my situation
Unfortunately I hit the Tower of Dust (an important location for a quest item needed to progress?) and my framerates became unplayable and loading cells almost caused it to hang. I'm using OpenMW 0.49 and have been getting 120FPS at 4K on an RTX 3070 with vanilla and every other new locations mod I tried. So I had to abandon it. A bit sprawling and enemy variety could be improved but it was otherwise a beautiful to look at mod with many opportunities for exploration. Those lava pools and lava waterfalls were incredible.
Edited to add: I went back and managed to finish the mod. It's just that massive Tower of Dust hub that causes extreme lag on my system (Intel i9 10-core, RTX 3070). Once I entered the Skeleton King's chamber, saved then reloaded, framerates went back to normal. The face-off against the Skeleton King was quite rousing, certainly a far more exciting boss fight than anything in the vanilla game. Endorsed.
Doesn't work, just get a blank wall where the door is supposed to be. I have the latest OAAB, tried unpacking all the files, keeping everything in the meta files. I either can't enable it in the data or just get a blank wall. Pretty much given up at this point, a dungeon isn't worth this hassle.
There is no "hassle". You install the mod the same way you would any other mod. If assets are missing, it's because you messed up. Be absolutely sure that you have the latest versions of both OAAB and Tamriel_Data (OAAB had an update very recently). If you want more help than that, you'll need to be more specific (for starters, which door is missing?)
I almost did a cardinal mistake. Upon finding a hammer I went on exploring the rest of the dungeon. At one point I wanted to repair my equipment, and only by sheer luck did I manage to actually load the game after using the quest item to repair my equipment lol
Great mod, love everything about it. The music, ambiance, verticality, hidden gems, quests, and loot everywhere, A+ mod. Thank you for making this.
One issue, though, is the Burning Soul companion followed me out of the dungeon after I destroyed the worldstone. Now every time I change instances (go through a door, recall, or teleport) it spawns a dead flaming skelton laying on the floor at my feet. I can still interact with his corpse like a mobile storage chest so it's not entirely bad, but it's somewhat immersion-breaking.
Uh, that's a new one. I don't know what might be causing that nor how to fix it off the top of my head. Do you have a save to go back to from before you defeated the final boss to try again? Even if you wouldn't want to continue that save because you've progressed too far since then, it'd still be interesting to know if the issue persists.
I do have a save prior to beating the final boss, it may take me a while to get back to him and defeat him, I'll do it and let you know if the issue persists. Thank you for your reply.
Hi! Awesome mod, I can't imagine how much time and imagination it took to make it. Current gamedev needs people like that!
And now to the personal: I spent more than 3 hours looking for the trang-ool shoulder pads: there is one called Marrow, but I couldn't find the second one. Is there anyone who can at least point out the location where to look for it, the mod is too big, or i am too old to find it myself. Made a "Find enchant" ring, spent another hour scanning locations, and found it in first location after portal
Hello, I love the mod so far, finally reached the final boss. A few things: Started at lvl 3 with a mysticism build, teleportation saved me countless time and companions and daedras did all the work for me. With a lot of patience, I reached the final boss, now I am level 6. After a few attempts, I can say the final boss is much stronger (and cooler) than any other mob inside. I wonder if I can pull this off, but honestly for a mid/new player of Morrowind, impossible. Maybe just avoid the quest entirely until lvl 20. Edit: I did it. Mostly using scrolls I found in the dungeon, gave a bajillion health potions to my companions, and they took him down. (Now I have such an insane stuff for lvl 6 I’m considering putting it in my shack for the days things become too hard again.)
I did all the other quests (before the boss) except the one linked to the Chapel of Vows, because the skull you’re supposed to speak to never unlocked the journal entry. This is probably a bug. Still reached the Chapel, and the corpse still says it needs its skull. It’s okay for me, but I suppose you’d want to know. Fyi I installed the mod via Total Overhaul OpenMW auto install tool.
Very nice mod, it does get under your skin. I love the Tower of Dust music, I really think Morrowind could use a lot more metal ambients like that.
Hey, thanks for sharing your experience and glad you enjoyed! I'm not sure what went wrong with the skull and the Chapel of Vows on your end. I tested that quest multiple times on both OpenMW and the vanilla engine and it always worked fine. Could be something got messed up in your save game.

Any fixes for this?

is the last thing in the log. I've done so much down here, I just want to kill the Skele King!
