tl;dr: This is hands down the best dungeon mod ever made for Morrowind.

After many hours of play time and loaded with epic, meaningful loot, I finally managed to finish playing through this mod. Especially if you're looking around for all of the secrets hidden in the ridiculously detailed areas of this mod, plan to spend a lot of time down there (and go prepared!). You've played Seelof dungeons before but he's taken those experiences and cranked them up to 1,000. While being heavily Diablo-inspired, Seelof did an excellent job fitting this into existing lore through clever ambiguity and molding the Skeleton King's persona into the Elder Scrolls universe.

I won't spoil the questline, but the closing comments from people at the Priory really was the icing on the cake. It's a detail many modders might forego in an already impressive dungeon delving experience. But the "wrap up" was thought provoking (particularly if you read between the lines) and leaves you wanting a "Part 2". I found that I formed an emotional link to the characters and this place. It isn't one of those quest mods where you play it and then disable it. This can be a permanent part of your game.

If we ever get a better dungeon mod, it will truly have to be something extraordinary. This seems nigh impossible to beat.

It's still morning here, but you have already made my day, Melchior! Thank you for this beautiful review and for the feedback you gave me over on MMC! Making this mod was a lot of fun, and it got me working together with many different modders, which makes it really special to me. I hope people will enjoy it as much as you have!

I'm really liking this mod so far. I'm running Expanded Vanilla in OpenMW and I cant help but keep getting surprised by how much some of the mods open up into massive zones. This one is pretty well paced, and the butcher boss sets a good metric for enemies after - definitely had to hit midlevel before getting into the meat of the mod. I'm hunting for how to get that bow behind the barrier now after finding that dudes' eye. B) Great work!

This is included in the total overhaul and honestly it's completely out of place.

You kill some level 15 butcher with 500 hp and loot a 35k and 60k value item.

You encounter a zombie infested "town" 10 feet away from another town, the dungeon design is horribly out of touch with morrowind and the lore is just a giant easter egg for diablo.

There is only so much linear dungeon I can stomach before I get bored of the copy/paste bone pile assets.

I'd love to play this as I heard great things about it, but sadly I'm a huge arachnophobe lol. Can anyone spoil me how bad it is, spider wise? Otherwise I could go in and disable them with the console instead of having to fight them. But if it's a big part of the content it's okay, I will sadly just have to skip it haha.

Spiders only make up a very small part of the mod. If you read the mod page, you will find a link to the Arachnophobia Patch, which deletes all spiders.

Only problem i have with this mod is that there is no enemy variety later part. You have to fight a team consist of a lich, an archer, and a shield skeleton for like 30 times in a row before reaching the final boss. I guess this might be a part of "Diablo Favor" but i never liked diablo games.

I like this mod nevertheless, the map and quest design is top tier.

I mean I just finished a nostalgia run of Diablo and found this in the OpenMW mod lists.
Needless to say it was a little surreal but this is probably some of the most fun I've had in Morrowind in a LONG TIME.
But not just here to rave and say "This is the best dungeon I've played in MW, everyone should download it and play it right now." and "Funny story: I saw the arachnophobia patch AFTER I cleared that part... that would have been nice."

Some of the items were hard to find, particularly the Eye, but with a little brain juice the spots are findable so wouldn't change a thing in retrospect. Keystones required a little backtracking but... We're playing Morrowind, scavenger hunts are to be expected.

I was going to mention that it seemed a little hard before I saw the suggested level for it... Yeah I was in single digits when I walked in. That first boss was hard but Paralyze overcometh many a difficulty spike... and Conjuration + Patience is OP.

Only 'real' feedback I have is that the Hammer quest item was very hard to find, and I didn't realize it was even there. Only knew about because I saw someone mention it in a comment. Maybe Chalda could mention it was taken by spiders or 'beast with many eyes' to maintain the "SURPRISE SPIDERS" element.
I'm sure I missed a few things but I am pretty confident I got most of it and I also wasn't playing a character with a lot of detection gear or spells so... that's to be expected.

Last bit of feedback has to do with music (and take this coming from someone who hasn't touched the construction kit since 2006). The only REAL immersion break that I got was the Morrowind's normal music coming in instead of your custom music. Not sure if it's within the scope of this mod to do anything about that but IF it's possible, or if you're aware of a Mod that would override the normal music that could be added to the recommended list, that would be awesome.

Besides that, wanted to draw attention to a smaller element, area transitions. You put WORK into those. The screen loading into a hulking custom boss monster with it's back turned to you, big damn spider in a shadowy corner of a small room that you just climbed into, and getting megalophobia from the scale of that one area... masterclass in small details like that. Well done.

And lastly, I think I found a spot that goes out of bounds in the Bowels of Hatred. It's probably just my setup didn't load it correctly but I have screenshots if it would be helpful.

    Anyway, 13/10. Amazing job.

Hi kuno, thanks for the thorough feedback, I appreciate it. And I'm glad you've been enjoying the mod.

It's true that it's hard to find all the items in the game, but then I'd like to think that's part of the fun and I'm happy you've been up to the challenge. In terms of the music, there is little I can do, unfortunately. If you're on the vanilla engine, make sure to activate "Run scripted music uninterruptible" or whatever it's called in MCP. That should help, but it's not infallible. I don't know of a way to force the music to play without interruption in OpenMW.

I appreciate you pointing out the area transitions, because I did put some thought into those. Thanks again for your comment. Cheers!

No, it's just pauldrons, helmet and chest. The pants in the screenshot are just the common pants you start the game with I think.

I have a little suggestion: can you add access to burning skeleton's inventory after the final boss defeat?
Because before the fight you can give it items (via Companion Share) but after the fight his inventory is not accessible.

I've killed it in order to get my stored items back...

That's a good suggestion, thank you. I'll look into it when I update the mod.

I've yet to play far into this, only doing a 5 minute play-test, but I already gotta say the atmosphere is on point. That said, you may wanna fix some grammatical errors if you find the time, and if not, you can just send me all the dialogue files over and I can do it for you =).

It's sweet of you to offer, but I'm fairly confident there aren't any grammatical errors. If you're a native speaker, I'd love to hear a for instance though.
