Just to let people know, YouTube is misidentifying the official Morrowind title theme as this cover and setting videos to revenue sharing. The following groups are claiming the content: ZAiKS Association of Authors, MCT_CS, ICE Core, WAMI_CS, and SUISA_SESAC_CS
As a reminder, Bethesda allows content creators to use gameplay AND music from their games. Be sure to file disputes if not using this mod / cover in your videos.
I’m not a fan of the .mp3 file format, and with this file I had to butcher the dynamics as well as clarity by compressing it to 128kbps which also cuts the higher frequencies. I used a bit more reverb in this arrangement than what Jeremy Soule did in the original Morrowind music, but due to the quality and dynamic compression it got smeared all over the place. It’s somewhat the same with YouTube and its compression, although the YouTube compression is less noticeable than what I did to the .mp3 file. The source file on my bandcamp page is in an uncompressed 48Khz 24-bit wave file format, which has way more clarity and overall more air (especially in the higher frequency range) to let the music breath more. Personally, I’m a huge advocate of the .flac file format which offers the same uncompressed wave file format quality, but it's smaller in file size. Thanks again!
