Ius the Animal God is a quest mod full of adventure, drama, comedy, and romance, as well as unique items and lore!

WORKS ON OPENMW, MWSE, AND OLDWIND. REQUIRES OAAB.

Changelog:

V 1.1: Fixed a rare bug with OpenMW users, made Ius' lore book a Conjuration skill book due to the subject matter.

V 1.11: Fixed a misspelling of the word "Insignificant".

V 1.2: Eliminates a bug where slave dialogue was not confined to Dren Plantation.
To know who Ius the Agitated is, one must look back to the first two entries in the Elder Scrolls series: Arena and Daggerfall. In The Elder Scrolls I: Arena, the Palace of Rockpark has its entrance blocked by a blacksmith's shop known as Unearthed Equipment. A simple bug of the procedural generation, right?

WRONG. In the Elder Scrolls, EVERY bug is in fact a specifically crafted FEATURE!

In Daggerfall, a book dubbed "Ius, God of Animals" (link) may be found that explains that the shop was, in fact, placed there by the patron deity of animals, Ius, as a punishment to a cruel king who abused a wombat. Moreover, Ius is said to be worshipped throughout the land, as statues to his greatness can be found throughout Arena (perhaps, retroactively, what was once a piece of setting dressing became the visage of a dark, malevolent god).

In 3e427, however, Ius' worship has taken a different turn. His statues depict a misshapen humanoid holding a set of balancing scales that are alight with fire, but no one knows why, and at this point in time, no one cares. His tome was an amusing manuscript, but Ius' worship evidently fell out of favor, as he was never mentioned again in an Elder Scrolls game since Daggerfall. This mod changes that.

As the Champion of Ius the Agitated, God of Animals and Extremely Fickle Curses, it is your job to not only restore Ius to his former station, but to take his unique artifact, the balancing scales known as the Adjudicator of Ius, and increase its power through the course of the mod's questline. What's more, Ius and his power are malleable to YOUR actions: if you choose to be merciful, the scales will reflect that. Solve every problem by burning everything to the ground? Ius' artifact will become more devastating and deadly as a result. It is ultimately up to you whether or not Ius' magnificent return to glory is a brutal or merciful one.

This mod has the following features:

○ 10 Quests, all of which center around either restoring Ius to his former glory or aiding those who re-established his church in the first place, and all of which involve attaining rescue or revenge for the poor, defenseless animals of Nirn! ○

○ 1 Unique Artifact Weapon, a weapon that can be customized to be protective or deadly depending on YOUR choices! ○

○ 1 Other Unique Artifact Weapon ○

○ 1 New lore book that contextualizes the modern interpretation of Ius, as well as others who shared his descension into obscurity. ○

○ The ability to speak to Ius through his scales (for those of you who are fans of having a god in your pocket!) He serves as a source of services as well as a voiced companion. ○

○ Bears! ○

○ A faction of likeminded yet misguided hooligans who serve Ius, all of which have something inane to say. ○

○ Oodles of Arena and Daggerfall lore that is not only incorporated, but cherished and expanded upon throughout the narrative. ○

○ A complete subversion of any expectations regarding what a Morrowind mod about an obscure Daggerfall deity could be like. ○
