Pickpocketing is now much easier, making the natural increase of the sneak skill actually possible in Morrowind. Some interesting observations:
When using the 100 version, a low-level Bosmer acrobat with 85 agility and 50 sneak can effectively steal every time from guards or commoners, even while facing them and even when the sneak icon is inactive. This is perhaps unintended, but I believe it's how pickpocket chance should actually work in the base game, simply a chance determined by your stats vs. target and object.
I will test out the normal version of the mod as well.
Thanks, I'm already using a bunch of stealth mods, as well as Necrolesian's rebalance (based on BTB's mod) but I will try it as well. In any case, the sneak icon is not active at all but pickpocketing still works on NPCs which, as I said, I believe should have been the original mechanic to begin with - it implies not only stealth, but also sleight of hand etc.
By the way, I went on a pickpocketing spree with my Bosmer character and it really makes a difference in the mechanic, in a good way ultimately. At last I was detected when trying to steal an item worth 2500 drakes from an alchemist, but not before I took some 10 potions, none worth more than 250.

For your information, there is a simple and interesting mod to make stealth more realistic: Realistic Stealth

AnotherPickpocketingFix.100.esp it's : iPickMaxChance: 100 ; fPickPocketMod: 0.01
"Results are fine for me: an experienced thief easily can steal items with cost near 1000-2000 from non-thief victims."
For the rest, test by yourself. £:^)
Would You make "iPickMaxChance : 100, fPickPocketMod : 0.01" version, please?
Alternative version done...
