In the golden age of Morrowind modding, the Better Bodies replacer ruled supreme. Now that we have the (arguably better) Robert's Bodies some people are torn between using their favourite clothing mods and using the highest-poly meshes available.
However, because a lot of clothing nifs actually just use the same few meshes made by NioLiv, and because Robert's Bodies shipped with an updated version of this, converting clothing mods is actually quite easy. The process can even be automated. The result of that conversion is provided in this mod.
300+ items from Clothiers of Vvardenfell are made compatible with RB and offered here, covering a majority of the available inventory that previously had clipping issues. This affects female meshes only. I also converted the mannequin used in this mod from a BB model to a RB one
Installation:
This file only contains converted meshes. You will still need a distribution of Clothiers of Vvardenfell. You can the original mod in two forms. Then let my files either override the originals, or put my mod after the originals in your load order.
Required files (either one is fine):
- Original mod - Comes in a 7z exe installer. This contains all of the clothes as well as the various shops in which they are sold. Note that the original mod is NOT compatible with Beautiful Cities of Morrowind, but you can use a patched version Here.
- Wares Version - Only has the clothes and applies some balancing to them. Can be used alongside original mod (see page for details)
Issues:
Not all meshes could be converted. Notably, I only convert the meshes I have RB equivalents for, meaning just the meshes from here. This captures over 300 pieces of clothing, but this mod has like 500. The remaining meshes aren't very problematic as far as clipping goes, but I've noticed issues with:
- The pirate outfit pieces
- Some of the crusader armor pieces (female only).
Because I didn't have the short boot meshes by Nioliv I used the long ones. This might lead to some additional alpha issues.
The converted meshes are generated by a script. I did some manual quality checking and everything seems fine, but some items may have
issues. You can post comments about it on this mod page but I will not fix it because it's too much tedium to start manually checking quality
Items will still clip with RB underwear. The fix is obvious.
