I seem to be having an issue with this mod, for Vodunius will not give me the key while playing with a fresh save. Playing via OpenMW 0.48.0, using the "I Heart Vanilla: Director's Cut" modlist from https://modding-openmw.com/lists/i-heart-vanilla-directors-cut/ (39 total mods) I have this mod listed in last place after all other mods, both in Content and Data sections of my Documents\openmw.cfg file. I know the mod is working properly otherwise, because the interior of his house has no ownership. I'm just missing the key.
I've figured out the issue! It was because of Tamriel Rebuilt -- That mod adds a quest expansion to Vodunius, which occurs after helping him in Seyda Neen. Because of this, it would be great to see a TR patch for this mod at some point.
For just a 100 drakes? Hard to believe to be honest. Even if he won't be using it, I always assumed he would sell it before leaving or give the deed to someone he knew, either as a gift or for them to sell and then send him the money at a later date or something like that. Maybe if he offered to sell it to you I would believe it.
Well, normally he just ditches the house and leaves, so it's pretty much the same. Plus, it's just an easy early-game player home and a reward for just being a good person and helping him out with the money he needed to leave.
Finally someone did something about this enigma. Great stuff. My question is, how can I use this mod when I have already finished Vodunius quest? Can I restart the quest? and how? I want to keep my current game of over 1000 hours and only just started the main quest. Any help would be much appreciated as I am not a modder.
If you have the mod, it should remove the ownership of the objects and containers inside his house, so you could just lockpick it open and it would be the same difference since you don't really need the key after the door is unlocked... otherwise I would think you'd have to start a new game... But there might be some console commands to reset him and remove his journal entries or something, haven't looked into that before, but you never know... Just be careful, don't wanna break that save... It's probably gonna bug me, so I'll have to go see if there really is a way to reset him lol... stay tuned
Still never figured out a way to reset an NPC on an existing save, sorry... But yeah, you could still just lock pick the door to get in and it would function the same way.
well, I just took everything out of the containers and slept 24 hours and save/loaded and went in/out to reload the cell, the containers don't seem to be disappearing... kinda sounds like what Graphic Herbalism does to ingredient gatherables
also I just updated the mod, cleaned it with tes3cmd, might help with your issue
I don't think that mod is the reason because I also have that installed, but maybe now that I used tes3cmd to clean the mod and double-checked everything, the newest version should work just fine.. unless there's something else possibly doing something in your mod list
No problem, you're welcome. It's good to bring up these issues to help me realize something isn't working, and each bit of detail can help troubleshoot any problems there might be. There's never a stupid question, only the ones you don't ask.
lol I swear I have had to re-set that like 3 times now, but ownership of everything inside his house is set to none (again) there's a new update version and it should be the last. After I cleaned the mod with tes3cmd, I opened it in the construction kit again (without saving) just to double-check and the ownership was saved as none as it should be, and also checked in-game on a new game, so everything should be final now.
I know right? I was thinking, he just left Morrowind but still owns a house in Seyda Neen? And because all he gives you is this cursed ring and leaves, it seemed like it should have been a type of early player home quest to me.

Side note; what font or ui mod are you using for your journal text?

Maybe just me but emptied containers disappear on save-load?

Tbh, it was probably a problem on my end as I am new to Morrowind modding!
