BRIEF INTRO
===========

The original "Morag Tong Armor" mod by NazoX9 was great and blended very smoothly into the gameworld. However, it suffered from several issues.
This is my attempt to address them and make the mod an even better complement to the Morag Tong assassin experience.

WHY THIS MOD?
=============

If you've ever felt that Morag Tong was somewhat underdeveloped and lacking in terms of visuals (especially compared to their counterpart, Dark Brotherhood),
then this is a mod for you. Also, if you liked the original NazoX9's version, but wanted it to be a little bit more polished, you are in the right place.

WHAT DOES IT DO?
================

This version improves upon the NazoX9's mod in several aspects.

| VISUALS |

Brand new icons: the original icons diverged from the vanilla style and made it pretty difficult to identify the item they represented.
Now all armor (and clothing) pieces have new, vanilla-fiendly icons.

New ground model for the cuirass: in the NazoX9's version the ground cuirass model used the same asset as the robe worn by Morag Tong members.
Now it has a new model with custom textures (upscaled 4x vanilla).

Modified cuirass & new clothing: the original cuirass had a tabard in the front, but left the rear part uncovered,
creating a somewhat awkward "diaper effect". It also suffered from some clipping issues during the running animation.
Now the tabard is removed, the greaves don't resemble a diaper anymore and a new Morag Tong Skirt is added to the set.
Also, an alternative version of the cuirass with a full tabard has been created by Ruffin Vangarr.

| GAMEPLAY |

Modified armor stats: Morag Tong Armor is too cool to be barely better than Chitin. Now it has base Armor Rating of 22,
providing slightly more protection than Bonemold Armor. I consider it to be a sweet spot, given how special this armor is, but not making it overpowered.
It also makes the armor a viable middle-tier choice for Light Armor users, an option apparently missing in vanilla.

Modified clothing stats: the robe worn by some Morag Tong members in vanilla is given a proper name and has stats in between expensive and extravagant clothes,
reflecting its uniqueness. The same applies to the new Morag Tong Skirt and Black Gloves (also appropriately renamed).

Balanced way of acquiring Morag Tong gear: in the original mod the whole armor set was given to the player by Eno Hlaalu after completing the first faction quest.
I thought it was too easy and decided to make the whole process more rewarding. Now you gain access to the armor pieces after having reached rank 1 (Blind Thrall).
The armor isn't given to you for free, but instead you have to purchase it from selected Morag Tong members (the same applies to clothing).
Not every Morag Tong merchant sells all the pieces, so you'll be forced to visit different guildhalls in various cities (finally a reason to do so).

Vanilla-friendly changes to Morag Tong members: all NPCs who belong to the faction wear Morag Tong Armor and/or clothes (unless they are rank 0).

Tamriel Rebuilt add-on: an optional plug-in applying the above changes to all Morag Tong members added by the newest Tamriel Rebuilt release (23.10 version).

INSTALLATION
============

Manually extract or drag and drop all the content of the "MTAR" folder into your Morrowind Data Files directory (omit the TR add-on if you don't play Tamriel Rebuilt).
Alternatively, use your mod manager of choice. For OpenMW users follow the guidelines outlined here: https://openmw.readthedocs.io/en/stable/reference/modding/mod-install.html.
Make sure to check the plug-in(s) while launching the game. If you prefer the cuirass version by Ruffin Vangarr, use only the "MTAR_alternative_cuirass" folder.

COMPATIBILITY
=============

If you have the original mod installed, I would recommend uninstalling it before using this version.

Morag Tong Armor Revisited (MTAR) is compatible with anything that doesn't directly touch NPCs belonging to the Morag Tong faction or modify Morag Tong guilhalls
interior cells. If you use such plug-ins and prefer the features provided by MTAR, make sure to load this mod after the others to overwrite any changes. Or use a merging tool.

MTAR is compatible with:

-Patch for Purists (all appropriate changes from PfP have been incorporated)
-the newest version of Tamriel Rebuilt (23.10)
-OpenMW

This mod has been checked & cleaned with Enchanted Editor.
