About this mod

A 'poshing up' of my favourite house mod for my favourite evil vampire overlord.

Dedicated to my cats, alive and deceased. In this mod I immortalize some of them.

Back in the day, when I first played Morrowind with my vampire, big Basil the Bastard, he lived in this amazing Daedric mansion. In all of my fanfiction, he lived in it. Nearly 20 years later, I found the mod again, but by then, I had elaborated quite a bit in details within those stories. As I am playing Morrowind again, I thought I'd update this mod to reflect that. I hope, should Trylobit ever see this, that he will like what I've done with it, and how much it has featured in my Morrowind experience.

This is my personal tweaked version of Trylobit's Daedra Manor, which I have added to, in order to make it match more closely how I describe it in many of my Basil the Bastard novels. I have always loved this mod, it suited the old buzzard perfectly and it has always been a mainstay of my game. Trylobit described this as 'just another house mod, but one with a lot of options' and I've always loved its unique feel. Most of its options are still intact. I had done this once before, but lost everything in a hard drive crash along with basil. Now, 15 years on, I'm playing the game again, remade Basil and remaking his home! Mostly, the changes are just the house being 'poshed' up, because Basil loves luxury. I went for a combination of evil and luxurious.

I've tried not to clutter it up too much to allow the player to add their own stuff from furnishing mods and suchlike. I've tried to reach a compromise between furnishing it and keeping some space free for anyone using furnishing mods that allow the player to place furnishings in-game.

Quest to obtain full ownership of the house and most other scripts are unchanged. Some of the enemies are tough, you have been warned! Read everything.

I have changed some of the house guards to male for more variety and dressed them in Daedric armour that can't be removed, to avoid the player just taking it if they die. I removed the dancers and the gate guards are now Dremora, as often mentioned in my stories.

Cats!
Cats now wander around the house as Basil always loved cats and they keep the vermin down. They are textured and named after my own cats, both alive and deceased.

The mansion is a complete structure in Daedric style for the player, probably the most complete Daedric structure in Vvardenfell. Location is in the Foyada Ashur-dan about horizontal from Ghostgate. Or in normal language: SW of Stronghold Falensarano. I've included a map showing its exact location as it's quite out of the way (just as Basil prefers!).

This house contains guards, a bedroom with amenities, lots of storage space, many Daedric statues, a swimming pool, study, dining room, a little garden, an arena, armor mannequins, a torture room, teleportation to the manor, a trophy room, ancient burial grounds, teleportation from the manor to 4 nonquest-related Daedric ruins around Vvardenfell and much more.

This house does not contain: uber merchants, trainers, free powerful items, or other phat lute. Mastersmith Baldakoth will make Daedric armour for you, but it will cost a lot!

About the Skeleton Race:
I've removed all the dependencies and merged the Skeleton Race mod with this one and also removed the 'playable' flag on this race to prevent unnecessary clutter in the race menu at the start of the game. It can be switched back on in the CS. I've also removed the need for Sheikizza's armour as that is quite old now and didn't mesh well with Better Bodies, which I use. This removes the need to hunt down mods to make this work.

Changelog: 1.10:
Lowered the level of the quest participants so the house can be taken over sooner (the quest isn't required to own the house, but there are a few cool additional bits if the old Master is slain).
Fixed all dialogue (I hope I caught it all this time!) so that the player is referred to by their name or simply 'boss' - I felt 'Master' would be a bit odd, should a woman want to take over the house.
Extended the raised area in the bedroom to be flush with the back wall to stop Atherton falling down into the gap there (silly cat!).

Added a LUA version with individual sorter boxes for quick stowing or retrieval of ingredients. On first load, it should give you 2 spells, one to retrieve, one to sort. It shouldn't conflict with any other mod that uses the same sorter. Use only ONE file.
Retextured the alchemy cabinets to match the rest of the posh furniture.

Changelog 1.11: Fixed the sorter missing the Tribunal ingredients. Unfortunately, this means going back to a save from before this mod was loaded, otherwise the boxes do weird things! Many apologies for the inconvenience. (I've already restarted this way several times!)
Removed the retexturing after finding out it retextured every other instance of the sorter in the game!

6 June 2022: Ooops! Added a little fix for a texture that flags up as missing if my Goth Shop mods are not used. I used a mesh and textures from there and forgot the reflection map! Didn't spot it as I always have those installed!

Any bugs, please let me know.

Big thanks to Denina for encouraging me to do this and conferring with me on how things have been imagined by us as we write. Also for her help when I mucked stuff up!
Huge hanks to The Wanderer - for the sorter stuff and for helping me figure out why the boxes weren't collecting all mats.
Special thanks  to Arthur who performed and recorded the original music that the instuments play.
Also big thanks to the helpful folks on the MMC Discord. I couldn't have done this without all you lovely people!
