I like what this offers so far, minus the Ebony Helm. Keep up the great work.

It would be interesting to see more historically accurate sets of armor. I haven't found anything so far that scratches that itch.

what didn't you like about the ebony helm? (not upset, just curious)
Personally I care more about aesthetics than realism or historical accuracy when it comes to armor, the history and materials are fictional either way.

I'm not pleased with the direction you chose for it. A lot of people may disagree with me on this, but I think the vanilla Ebony Helm actually has the effect of being menacing. I attribute this to its smooth and monolithic design. When you added the "T" shaped opening, it suddenly transformed into looking like your run-of-the-mill cartoony "medieval" helmet.

In short, by adding details you have diminished its carefully crafted aesthetic.

I think the original is a plain bucket you can't even see out of. But I knew not everyone would like everything, that's why I made the pick and choose option, so people can just take what they like.

I kinda like both. I think the real issue is that the first time you saw a warrior in full ebony was scary as f*#@, and that helmet left an imprint on our child minds. objectively it looks like s#*! cuz it's just a bucket painted black with gold trim, but what it represented was what we remembered and ultimately coveted. it reminds me the same of wow armor how a lot of it looked like s#*!, especially arena armor. but when it was current season it was cool because it was coveted, because it represented prestige.

Instead of it being a T shape you can just keep the eye strip like in the original helm instead of the boba-fett looking thing that's going on with it. Like a best of both worlds kinda thing

I actually REALLY like the T-visor helmet TBH. Gives it also a small imperial flair to it especially with the plume. Hell i'd LOVE for the Adamantium helmet to have closed version like the Ebony just because of how cool it looks.

Still I think the best solution for the 'T-dilemma' would be making it a sallet?`I felt like that's what Beth wanted to do but instead, it came out looking like a weird ass bucket with glowing yellow eyes.

the original ebony helm reminds me of a shorter frogs mouth helm , ala lapps helmet from ds3 , luckily theres the pick and choose so i dont know why folk are complaining , i guess the plume is just that sexy

speaking of sallets i love what you did with the iron helm

I have, nothing. For further context i'm using the icons from the module version, specifically the plume-less ones. Iron and steel don't show up either though.

These are really nice and the sallet & bevor are brilliant.

I already use Opus Ferrum Iron Armour Replacer. Is there any way I could have your helmets added to the level lists? If it's just a matter of using the tool kit I could give it a try.

you would need to rename the files and create separate variants using the construction kit but that shouldn't be anything too difficult

can you add compatibility for macoms heads? my bretons ears are sticking out the side of the adamantite helmet which is a tragedy. your helmet saves that armor set.

isn't that an issue with macoms heads having ears then?

    Awesome restyles!
Can I suggest including your Nordic Iron Helm rework from your Complete Nordic Iron Armor mod? It takes a very wonky helmet and turns it into something fierce.

I didn't consider that considering how I didn't really 'restyle' it but I suppose I might as well. thanks for the suggestion.

You are welcome! Yes, it isn't a restyle but more of a dewonkifier. That helmet + this mod + Wolf Helmet Replacer = awesome helmets all around.

I do not mean to ask this in the "Will you make this compatible" sense, but I was curious if the changes made to the iron and steel helmets will make them stand out next to TR-data's variations on the same helmets or if the mesh edit somehow effects all variants.

These edit the vanilla meshes only, they wont affect TRs meshes.

I think you outdid yourself with the Iron Helm; I went and took a look at it in Blender and it's a great remix of the original mesh. Using the Chitin helmet to kitbash together a bevor for it was also a great idea!

Here is a version where I added .dds versions of all icons: Restyled Helmet Replacer (added dds icons).zip

OpenMW 0.46 just ignores the .tga icons, falling back to the vanilla .dds ones from Morrowind.bsa.
