Improved Weapon Meshes Compilation

There are a great many excellent weapon mesh replacers for Morrowind; however, I always used to dread installing them. The interplay between these mods, Weapon Sheathing, and various other patches meant that installing them all could be quite involved. This is simply a compilation made with the intention of simplifying installation for other mod users. The intent isn't to claim any credit which rightfully belongs to the mod makers whose work is included here; it is simply to save some of the aggravation that would otherwise be entailed in using them all together.

Here's what's included:

00 Core: Includes Pherim's Real Reflective Weapons - Iron, Improved Weapon Meshes- Ebony, Improved Weapon Meshes - Steal, and Improved Weapon Meshes - Organic; Stuporstar's Smooth Glass Weapons and Smooth Orcish Weapons, and Remiros' Silver Mesh Improvements and Nordic Mesh Improvements. It also contains R0's Improved Thrown Weapon Projectiles and all the compatibility patches R0 and other mod authors made for it.

01 Weapon Sheathing Patch: Patches for the Weapon Sheathing mod made by all the mod authors mentioned above. Note that all the remaining options on this list have Weapon Sheathing meshes included if they were available. This was to simplify organization. Usually it shouldn't make a difference, but if for whatever reason you don't want these meshes, simply delete, hide, or disable mesh files ending in "_sh" from these options.

02 Hires textures: These are higher-resolution options for a couple new textures from Stuporstar's Smooth Glass Weapons that are not found in the original game.

02 Hires textures, "Native Styles" style: Includes all of Stuporstar's alternative glass textures, which were made to match St. Jiubs "HiRez Armors - Native Styles".

03 Glass Glowset Patch: These meshes are compatible with the glowmaps from Darknut's Glass Glowset. They are mostly from Stuporstar's patch for Smooth Glass Weapons, overwritten by R0's patch for Improved Thrown Weapon Projectiles.

04 Correct Iron Warhammer: This is Pherim's patch for R0's Correct Iron Warhammer and Pherim's own Real Reflective Weapons - Iron. It does not require R0' original mod.

05 Patch for Psymon's Iron Mesh Improvements - Uniques: This is Pherim's patch for Psymon's mod. Psymon's mod is required; install it before this mod.

06 Ebony Claymore: Pherim made an ebony claymore model for his Improved Weapon Meshes - Ebony. The plugin file places it somewhere in the game. The Location text file tells you where.

07 Alternative Broadswords: Pherim included these options in Improved Weapon Meshes - Steel, so that steel broadswords would have a unique model. Choose just one option.

08 Alternative Longsword and Dagger: Pherim included these in his steel weapons mod, indicating that they may be more consistent-looking with other vanilla steel weapons.

09 Wavy Blade Dagger: Another alternative model Pherim made for his steel weapons mod.

10 Claymore Wooden Sheath: Yet another alternative steel model by Pherim. Requires Weapon Sheathing.

11 Smoothed Orcish Pauldron: From Stuporstar's Smooth Orcish Weapons. This was part of the original mod, but I decided to separate it from all the weapon meshes in the core files.

12 Improved but unfixed Silver Projectile Meshes: These are from Remiros' Silver Mesh Improvements. "Improved" means better models like the rest of Remiros' mod. "Unfixed" means they do not include the fixes from R0's Improved Thrown Weapon Projectiles, namely that they point in the direction they are thrown. Those fixes are included in the Core files of this mod, but they are based on vanilla models. Basically, you can decide if you'd rather have the nicer looking silver projectiles or ones with R0's fixes, depending on whether you install this package or not.

13 New Dreugh Weapon Texture: This is a pretty hi-res alternate texture from Pherim's Improved Weapon Meshes - Organic. It's more hi-res and detailed than what's found in other mods, so I'm including it here as an option.

Possibly asked questions:

OpenMW?: Should work with .47 and beyond as intended if you check "Bump/reflect map local lighting" in the launcher, under "Advanced/Visuals". Pherim created non-bump-mapped meshes for Real Reflective Weapons - Iron and for Improved Weapon Meshes - Steel intended for older versions of OpenMW. You can install these meshes from their respective mod pages after this mod if you'd rather use them for whatever reason.

Why don't these meshes look right?: For OpenMW, follow the instructions above. For vanilla, enable "Bump/Reflection Map Local Lighting" in the Morrowind Code Patch.

Why is this missing Pherim's steel throwing knife fix?: Because that fix is included in Patch for Purists.

Why is this missing the texture option from x mod?: If I didn't include them here, these options don't seem to be very different from newer texture packs like Intelligent Textures or Morrowind Enhanced Textures.
