    Is there any way to make the shader work on interior waters as well?

    could you release a version that does not require distant land, I try to go for a vanilla plus experience. so only cut content, vanilla quests with only slight tweaks and fixed, not enhanced graphics as far as I can (some mods rely on mge xe so I cannot complete go without but I want to experience what the game was sort of like when you would first have played it.

      I second this if its possible! I Don't have my PC at home anymore so only have a potato laptop to play on and sadly can't do Distant land but really want vanilla water. Would just disable MGXE in-game but then I lose the resolution fix that helps reduce motion sickness. A way to keep the resolution fix or have this mod work without needing distant land would be huge.

      Why don't use distant land set to 1 cell? That's basically vanilla.

      that doesn't change the water shader

      What? Yes it changes it with low impact in performance. I just checked with distant land set to 1 cell only + dynamic ripples very low (35), this and this are the results for that not so demanding setting, this for underwater.

      Ah ok. I didn't remember to set dynamic ripples even lower, in the install info says 0-5, but yeah, it's not exactly the same as vanilla,  just "similar" as it's well visible in the mod images.

      PS. In those images I had some other MGEXE features enabled -zero mods- so maybe that makes it look "less vanilla".

      I see, for me, even when I had it at 05, i could see further than vanilla

      i third this, ideally i just want the resolution/widescreen fix, fov changer, anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing and performance, i don't want any lighting or shader changes

      Same! I have a low end machine and i could use the same water at a low impact.

    Does anyone know if this improves performance?

    My recommendation is small change in XE Mod Water.
    float shorefactor = saturate(exp(-depth / 30));

    This will give a little natural transparency while keeping vanilla style water.

    Thank you so much! I love the original Morrowind water, so much nostalgia! I modified mine slightly (most importantly setting shorefactor = saturate(exp(-depth / 1000)) to make it blend better) and I'm so happy with the results!
