Some of the choices are very odd, like Nymph and Winged Twilight ancestry giving you a penalty to Personality and Sloadic ancestry not doing so. But that can be changed with notepad and it's otherwise very good.
Does anyone know if this mod is compatible with mods that change the chargen process? I have one of those "Alternate Start" mods and I'm not sure if adding this one might cause complications.
This mod doesn't change chargen process in any way, as it does its thing right after chargen process is completed, and as such should be fully compatible with every "Alternate Start" mod.
I always love more roleplaying mods, I have your Beliefs mod and Merlord's Character Backgrounds (plus the expansion) as well. My only issue with this specific mod is the inclusion of several races there is no indication in lore for these races being able to breed with the playable races; I'm not sure what the logistics and lore implications look like for a character with daedra lineage, for example. I do love the inclusion of "Reachman," though.
However, I recognize the value in such inclusions, as not everyone cares about lore-friendliness. I am going to make some custom edits to the mod to remove the creature lineages, leaving only pure and half breed options (as well as a few others) in for my own use. Would you want to include my edits as an optional file, or if not, do you mind if I upload them myself?
Again, fantastic mod, with my edits this will make a great addition to my modlist, YAJAN.
PS: If I'm wrong about the lore behind breeding, please let me know
There's far more material to support some pretty wild crosses than there are against it. I can't really word it much better than [this] post can. If even argonians can produce children with dunmer, then I think all these options are pretty fair game for being 'lore friendly'!
I have both this and your religion mod installed, and for some reason it always lists both the lineage and belief 2 or more times on the menu (sometimes it multiplies when I'm not looking at it).
For example: Level 1 Race Nord Class Battlemage Lineage Nede Belief Kyne Lineage Nede Belief Kyne Lineage Nede Belief Kyne
I used mlox for the load-order, but I may have to tinker with both it and my modlist when I get the time. I was just curious to see if anyone else was getting the same issue.
Lineage was very briefly listed twice, but I was able to somehow solve the problem (thankfully) just by loading a save file. Then, even luckier, I was able to go back to the file that originally had the error, and simply reloading it removed the doubled line. Nothing has gone wrong with it for me since then. I made a fresh save file to use the lineage mod, so this was before I installed the bythedivines mod a good bit into that same new file.
EDIT: Did you make a new game to use the mods or install on an older savefile?
I can replicate the issue on a new game. If you use both this mod and the religion one, whenever you either move/resize/close + re-open the character stat window - it will keep doubling and eventually push down all the attributes out of sight. If you save and reload then everything is back to normal, until you move/resize/close + re-open the character window.
I use Skyrim UI Overhaul ( https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/43039 ) not sure if that's causing the issue? If I remove either Lineage or the Religion mod there's no issue with the other.
Apart from the above issue, this is a great mod and appreciate all MTR's hard work to create this for us :)
I couldn't replicate the bug by move/resize/close+open.
Using mods like Skyrim UI Overhaul shouldn't have any influence on whether this bug appears or not. In fact I have even installed it and still couldn't reproduce the bug.
As for the "hard work to create this". All I did was just menial work, the actual hard work was done by merlord. ;) This is one of the reasons why I can't be more helpful with finding and fixing this bug :(
That said I found something that might be the reason for the bug. I just can't test it without being able to replicate it in first place. I'm going to upload the changes now and hopefully it will fix the bug.
Half-Nord is greyed out (as it is on the screenshot) if your character's race is Nord, so it's supposed to be father's (or any further ancestors if you want) race. If you want to play as "pureblood" Nord, you are supposed to pick Nord as your lineage/ancestry.
It's a good question, I'll add few more screenshots that will hopefully make it clear.

Slight issue with the Hagraven lineage. It's supposed to be Resist Magic 25, but in-game, it's actually Restore Magic 25.
