| Daedricwind |
| A Morrowind Mod, Version 1.0 |
| by Necrolesian |
===============================================================================

-------------
Description |
-------------

Daedricwind is a font replacement for Morrowind combining the letters of the
Daedric alphabet with English punctuation and numerals, allowing you to replace
Morrowind's regular font and play the game in Daedric.

It was created by taking the Daedric letters from Hardek's Better Daedric Font
(Aligned+XY version) and putting them into Hrnchamd's Better Dialogue Font.
Specifically, I combined the .tex files (containing images of the letters) into
one and used Gimp to slightly smooth the Daedric lettering. Then I used
Oblivion Font Editor (which also works with Morrowind fonts) to painstakingly
copy the data for the Daedric letters into Better Dialogue Font and tweak the
letter size. The result is basically Better Dialogue Font with Daedric letters.

The Daedric letters in this font are a bit smaller than those in Better Daedric
Font - this was necessary to avoid a problem where the font would be misaligned
with bigger letters. They're also a bit smoother than in Hardek's font, which
looks much better at this size.

Installation |
--------------

Use a mod management tool such as Wrye Mash, or manually copy the sub-packages
you wish to install to your Data Files directory.

There are five sub-packages in the archive:

- 00 Core: This contains the .tex file that is required for the mod to function
at all.

- 01 Replace Regular Font: This will replace the "Magic Cards" font Morrowind
uses for almost everything. Installing this sub-package will result in almost
the whole game being in Daedric.

- 02 Replace Daedric Font: This will replace the Daedric font used mostly in
magic scrolls. The result will be basically the same as using Better Daedric
Font, except that punctuation will be visible in the scrolls that use it.

- 03 Replace Console Font: This will replace the "Century Gothic" font
Morrowind uses for console text. This means you'll type and read in Daedric in
the console.

- 04 Advanced: The .fnt file in this sub-package will not overwrite any of the
game's files. Instead, you'll need to manually edit the [Fonts] section of
Morrowind.ini for the new font to appear in-game.

If you install one or more of the three sub-packages that replace Morrowind's
font files, be sure to backup the original files first!

Recommendations |
-----------------

If you want to play the game in Daedric, there are a few other mods I
recommend.

De-Outlandered Main Menu and Daedric UI Textures: Includes a main menu screen
with Daedric text, and Daedric versions of the main menu (New, Save, etc.) and
navigation (Next, Prev, etc.) buttons.

RFD's Splash Screens: A set of splash screens that goes well with the above
mod. You might want to remove your existing splash screens.

Swappable Texture Signposts: A signpost mod with an option for all signposts to
be in Daedric.

Daedric Signposts: A lower-resolution alternative to the above mod.

Credits |

This mod is mostly the work of Hrnchamd (creator of Better Dialogue Font) and
Hardek (creator of Better Daedric Font). It also wouldn't be possible without
Oblivion Font Editor, which allowed me to modify the font.

As far as I'm concerned, you can use this however you want. But be sure to
follow the permissions for Better Dialogue Font and Better Daedric Font, and be
sure to credit Hrnchamd and Hardek, the creators of those mods.
