    Hi all!

It's been a while, I got a bit overloaded with work and had a bit of a writer's block, but I am glad to announce that a new version of Relevant Rumors is now available! In addition to the House Telvanni quest line covered by v1.0, this new v2.0 release includes rumors for House Redoran quests.

The next release will be focused on House Hlaalu, after which I plan to add some rumors related to the main quest (not too many though, vanilla Morrowind already has most of it covered).

I also want to explore adding more variety to the rumors. For example, some of the "outlander" factions (Imperial Legion, Imperial Cult) might have a very different reaction to many of the Great Houses quests compared to the native Dunmer. But I will need to complete rumors for the Hlaalu quest line, so it might take a while.

Thank you all for your support!

This is such a cool and underrated idea. Reactivity, especially in a heavily text-based game like Morrowind, doesn't need to be flashy or visual. This sort of mod makes your actions feel that much more meaningful and characters 'alive'. I'd love to see the Hlaalu questlines finished, I think that would be enough. As you say—main quest reactivity is baked into the base game, with House faction being the next most important decision you'll make. Fantastic work all round!

I'm afraid not at the moment — I try to keep up with their Lua API updates, but so far I couldn't find any (even if hack-ish) way to make my mod work in OpenMW. Once the necessary APIs are available (checking quest stages, setting MW's global variables, looking up an NPC's faction) I will port this over.

Thanks for the update. As my next character is going to join House Telvanni, I am already covered, but the next character will join one of the otehr factions, so it's good to see progress on this interesting mod!

    Very cool idea!!
Will this be expanded to mention quests and side quests the PC has done?
Like mentioning "I heard that someone has recently completed the pilgrimage for the Temple in Balmora" etc...

One question, in the 6th screenshot
The person is saying "I have heard the most furious news from Maar Gan."

Shouldn't that be "curious" instead of "furious"?

      Thank you!
I am indeed planning to expand to other quests, not just House Telvanni. Next up will probably be House Redoran and Hlaalu, with other factions after that.

As for the "furious news" — this rumor is supposed to be told by House Redoran members, who would understandably be enraged by their defeat at Shishi. As I mention in the mod description, I am not a native English speaker, so perhaps I am misusing "furious" to reflect that emotion :) Would "outrageous" be better in your opinion?

'Outrageous' would get the meaning you intend across better I believe.

Yes, 'outrageous' would be a better fit

If you want some variation of the word you had originally wanted to use, you could also use 'infuriating news'. Great mod idea, just not sure if I should download prior to final completion, not that I ever play anything besides Telvanni for the most part...

That's a great idea, adds much-needed reactivity to the gameworld. Please do expand on the mod, so that other questlines also get their relevant rumors!

Thank you! I have started writing rumors for House Redoran last week :) No estimated release date since I'm a bit busy at work atm, but I'm glad to see that people are liking the idea!

Nice to hear this progress on House Redoran. Will download once you've released. In your own time of course, work comes first.

What an excellent idea for a mod. I really hope that you continue to work on this and complete the other houses. I'm not sure I remember if NPCs ever referred to the houses by their colors but your writing looks good to me.

Thank you! Referring to House members by their color is only ever mentioned a couple of times in vanilla game:
"Vvardenfell's three Great Houses identify themselves by their traditional colors: red for Redoran, yellow for Hlaalu, and brown for Telvanni. For example, House Hlaalu members are called 'Yellows'."

IIRC it is only Noble or Savant NPCs who use this dialogue, so I thought it would be nice to expand on this practice in my mod.

This is a cool idea, like your implementation for compatibility's sake also.
