3rd step seems impossible to do. Trying to do exactly that, will lead to an error message when launching the game that the line Ressources cannot be specified twice. Could you elaborate on the steps? It seems a critical information is missing.

EDIT: Ah, yes, wrong config file. Not the original one, but the one in the user folder within "My Games". That's where you need to put it people.

I am confused about how the mod is installed...I don't understand where I'm supposed to make changes. I've downloaded the mod and used the openMW data directories Append function...is that wrong?

Seems to cause a crash on latest 49 dev builds

You can work around this if you drop the files from "Morrowind_Pixel_Water_Imitation_for_OpenMW/OpenMW 0.49/resources" into your latest build's resources folder.

May want to back up your existing "water.frag" and "water_nm.png" files though in case you want to revert.

Happily, this still works perfectly on OMW 0.47, and it looks fantastic! My thanks to all the collaborators.

is it possible to make it a bit closer to the original? the original water was very glossy and this feels quite a bit softer

Does not work on the latest version of OpenMW for me, and yes, I tweaked the right settings and made sure water shaders were on, I've installed this mod before.

I just dropped an update which supports OpenMW 0.48.0 and 0.49.0 dev builds

Unlikely to make much difference either way.

In the latest OpenMW versions "water_fragment.glsl" is now "water.frag". Otherwise works and looks great! :D
PS: Make sure to set water texture quality to low in the in-game options. It looks BETTER (with this mod)!
edit: as well as Refraction: off and Reflection shader detail: World, just like the description says.
    There's slightly weird effects otherwise.

? Which version uses water.frag? I'm on 0.49 and it's still using water_fragment. Whatever, I'll just copy the file and rename it. Can't hurt to have both files in the folder.

So I know people often don't read instructions and OpenMW may be installed on varying locations on a user's computer but I am...surprised noone even suggested a file path.

    For anyone having trouble, try:

    C:\Program Files\OpenMW 0.47.0\resources\shaders

If that doesn't work, just search your disk drive (probably C) for the following file:

    water_fragment.glsl

Might take a few minutes but it should pull it up if you have OpenMW installed.

It's working great, thank you. Water is much less distracting now.
