Hi, first of all, thank you for this excellent mod. This is a great idea well executed!

For me, though, there is one issue: I am using "RR Mod Series - Better Ships and Boats", and unfortunately this mod is not quite compatible with this.
(For instance, I checked several ship wrecks, and sometimes the cabin doors or trap doors are not lining up correctly.)

Hence my question: Is there any chance you could make a version for "Better Ships and Boats" users?

    Best wishes!

I've cleaned some dirty edits, in version 1.0.4. Can you download the latest version & confirm the incompatibility persists?

      Hi, thanks! :-)
      Yes, they do persist.

I took the liberty of making the appropriate changes myself. You can download the changed mod here:
      http://www.frank-stahl.com/Uncharted_Artifacts_v1_0_4_for_RR_Better_Ships_and_Boats.zip
(Link will expire in 48 hours.) Please distribute freely, of course.

Please note: This is for "Morrowind Overhaul 3.0" and "RR Better Ships and Boats" users.
(I also made new a new texture / icon from your treasure map. Feel free to use these or not. I think they are more easily recognizable than the old ones.)

Imo this mod would be better if the maps were not exclusively on shipwrecks. Feels too gamey and thus immersion breaking to me.

I need help because I am facing strange issues with this mod.

I am doing the Expanded Vanilla mod list.
I skipped some gameplay mods and other mods at the end which is not supported by OpenMW 0.47, but I installed almost everything according to the suggested load order.

As I reached the first shipwreck near Seyda Neen and I started collecting the items I stumbled upon a treasure map.
The only problem is that the item has a crossed-out smiley symbol and if I open this it shows nothing, the paper is empty.

I installed OAAB Shipwrecks and OAAB Shipwrecks Patches: Uncharted Artifacts. The second mod comes later on far below in the mod list.
We have here the following instructions for OAAB Shipwrecks:

If you're using a mod list:

    • Extract the 00 Core folder but you won't need the plugin inside (a replacement that's been edited for compatibility will be given by another mod later on).
    • Extract the 01 Patch - Uncharted Artifacts folder as well, but that won't be used until a bit later.
    • Extract and use the 02 Patch - TR Patch folder and its contents as normal, no special instructions for this one.

I activated only the core plugin from OAAB Shipwrecks, the other is unchecked although I cleaned the OAAB - Shipwrecks - TR Patch.ESP

Unfortunately the cleaning did not work for the patched version of OAAB - Uncharted Artifacts, although the modding page says it is dirty.
(sometimes it does not work at all for some dirty mods, but I have no clue why, the command line is simply interrupts and closes immediately...
    Do you know maybe why?)

I did not install the base mod Uncharted Artifacts, since the mod list says I only need the plugin from the patched version because it will overwrite it later:

    Usage Notes:
If you're following a mod list you can skip the plugin from this (one that's been patched for compatibility will be provided later).

I merged leveled lists and objects with delta plugin and I put the delta-merged plugin at the end of my load order.

I do know what caused my problem, but I want to solve this. Did I install these stuffs incorrectly? (or are they in the incorrect order?)
It is quite difficult to keep the transparency at such a huge mod list and I try to find the balance in this modding chaos...

    Thank you in advance.

You need the base mod, 01 Patch - Uncharted Artifacts is a patch, i.e it completes/fixes the main mod.

well that was a waste of time. unfortunately, that map thats shown in the screenshots is exactly the kind of "clue" youre given. a massive red circle on a map that does not correlate to the in game map you are shown in any visual way. thanks guy, for circling a huge area with your artistic depiction, rather than the games so i can actually figure it out.

low key realism mod cuz that's how maps work. unless its an x marks the spot with a zoomed in detail of what tree to dig under, it would make sense to have an approximate area. otherwise just look at the online guide if u want exact coordinates my dude. nothing stopping you.

Having issues with this and OAAB shipwrecks i think. Have OAAB and the patch above UA on the load order. But i'm not finding the treasure map on the wreck by Seyda Neen.

Does finding the an item remove the corresponding treasure map? I've already got the mentors ring. Also using Sails and Sales and Abots waterlife if that effects anything.
Edit: Moved UA above OAAB and it works. The map is in an easy to miss bottle on the sea floor.

I don't think MR changes the shipwrecks' interiors, so probably.

Actually a patch for this comes with OAAB Shipwrecks, which is how I found this cool little mod.

So I am a little confused does this mod move the items? or is which treasure map you get random?

Treasure maps are hand-placed in shipwrecks and lead you to vanilla artifacts.
The artifacts are not moved or modified at all.

      Hope this helps!
