Found this by accident and I'm angry cuz this mod should be pinned to the damn front page and be a must for everyone to download lol Awesome job my man!
An interesting armor, but I did noticed a few issues:
Some of the inventory icons are rather hard to see in the vanilla UI, as it's black on black.
As mentioned by others there are no female meshes. In my case I ended up with a mix of meshes and textures (from this and other replacers mods) as I'm also using Better Morrowind Armor.
I personally find the visual look kind of flat and feature-less (mostly because everything is dark/black), my current texture replacer uses a somewhat darkish marble like texture for the ebony, which gives it a bit more variety.
It looks flat in dull light...but on a sunny day,or in a room with tighter lighting, the specularity gives it a nice sheen..did you enable specular and bump maps in Open Mw? Check the video in the video section of this mod..You will see how it looks in the sunshine.. The mix of meshes is a Result of Better Morrowind Armor.>These mods are incompatible,as they change the same resources in differing ways.
I do have the various normal maps and specular maps enabled.
I didn't test it extensively (due to mesh issues) in different types of lightning - I mostly happened to test it indoors and at night & morning and in overcast weather. I did notice some shininess.
Due to my use of BMA (Better Morrowind Armor) and it's esp, it seems that I ended up with some of it's meshes and most of your textures. - I did end up with a female cuirass (and greaves?) mesh. These mostly looked ok. - The BMA cuirass mesh did have a mail skirt that ended up using my "regular" textures. - My bracers also ended up looking "regular" for some reason - probably because the BMA esp is telling OpenMW to use its version of those meshes.
ps: I can probably fix most of these issue, if I reorganize your mod files, in a folder structure that matches what the BMA esp expects.
I've been checking out Better Morrowind Armor.>This mod is indeed incompatible with it..... My Mod uses various Vanilla meshes in place of the vanilla ebony meshes...It works ok with the female variant of the armor in BMA,with a few quick edits in nifscope...as I did not touch the female armour....but I would have to deconstruct a lot of BMA in order to make it work for the male armor.......
The armor looks beautiful, but I've found a number of texture issues with it. The cuirass model references "ebony belt.dds" when that texture isn't included in the download. I also saw at least one absolute path given to a texture. Additionally, I'd love to see the same amount of detail on the greaves texture as there is on the others. It just looks unfinished to me.
Thanks for the feedback It helps. I was using an ebony belt.dds, but swapped it out for ebony skirt.dds...which is in the upload. I must have forgotten to switch the reference in the cuirass. I will reupload a fixed cuirass, will change the addresses for the texture,(am still learning)and perhaps might try to pretty up the Greaves a little.... If you are handy with nifscope, you can find the missing texture link and point it to ebony skirt.dds... Does the armor show all textures apart from the part referencing ebony belt.dds?
I actually had to skin the draping parts of the cuirass in blender to get them to show up, since they were unskinned originally. The bracers are also a tad slim and long which causes some clipping, at least with Better Bodies. You can also decrease the size of your download by saving your textures with DXT1 compression since they don't have alpha channels that need to be preserved.
I couldn't get the draping parts to work,so should have deleted them.....Could you send me a copy of the cuirass with the draping parts showing please, and I will upload a revised file using your advice.>I'm not too well versed in file formats.....But will convert all textures to dxt 1 Also if you can fix the bracers to fit better with better bodies,I will credit you for your assistance.. ..Perhaps I should do a version for Better Armor...
