Whenever a staff weapon is equipped, a dedicated Endurance-based Staff skill is used. Includes all staves from the vanilla game, expansions and Tamriel Rebuilt by default.

I. Requirements:

II. Description:

This mod lets wizards, monks, pilgrims and other stealth-related characters use a separate skill for staff weapons. The skill is governed by Endurance attribute, just like Spear, since the staff is used in a similar way - its primary usage is to keep enemies at bay as long as possible, utilizing its wide range and damaging them with on strike enchantments, rather than sheer brute force.
Whenever a player character equips a staff weapon, a Staff skill is automatically added to the character sheet. All skill progress for a staff weapon is related to Staff skill only. Hit chance is also based on the new skill when a staff is equipped.

The mod is inspired by Staff Weapon Skill by Dormouse, but has some additional features:

- Lightweight, does not require an .esp to run
- Support for all staves from the vanilla game, expansions and Tamriel Rebuilt by default
- Any mod-added staff weapon id can be included by writing a line of text into matchList table of the .lua file
- The Staff skill is separate from Blunt Weapon and can be toggled in MCM
- The skill is only visible when an appropriate weapon is equipped
- The base skill gain on a successful hit is configurable in MCM, ranging from 1 to 5 plus an inbuilt tiny random factor (1-5)
- Has a sexy custom skill icon made by RFD

III. Compatibility:

This mod is currently NOT compatible with OpenMW.
May have issues with mods that heavily alter leveling process, like CCCP, which doesn't take in skill gains from a custom skill. Improved Vanilla Leveling is fine though, I recommend using it with mods that make use of Skills Module.
May have issues with Equipment Requirements mod - if your Blunt Weapon skill is not enough to wield a particular staff, then you either won't be able to use it at all or your fatigue will be penalized.
Otherwise it should be compatible with any other mod.

IV. Installation and Removal:

To install:
Unpack the contents of the archive into your main Morrowind directory.

To uninstall:
Remove the directory "\Data Files\MWSE\mods\inpv\Staff Skill"
Remove the file "\Data Files\Icons\RFD\StaffSkill\InpvStaff.dds"
