Morrowind Re-Written
A final edit of The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind

"everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance"
- Kurt Vonnegut

Developers must fill the vast worlds of The Elder Scrolls in such a brief development period that the games inevitably fall short of fulfilling their promise. This is especially true of the dialogue in The Elder Scrolls. Fortunately, our favorite TES game features a text-based dialogue system which has been waiting--for years!--for capable writers to make use of its framework and realize the game's true potential.

Morrowind Re-Written: Chapter One - The Ashlander Tribes takes up this mantle, editing dialogue for the people of the four tribes and each of their quests. Experience a more cinematic, character-driven Morrowind, crafted by professional writers.

How our mod's approach differs from popular dialogue mods:
LGNPC aims to give every NPC a unique backstory.
LDM adds diversity to general dialogue, aims to correct logical errors, and creates what its author calls "situational nuance."
Morrowind Re-Written primarily expands dialogue related to quests. Each quest we edit will then be experienced fresh: important for a game released nearly twenty years ago. Characters now have actual motivations. Interesting themes are no longer left as mere outlines by busy developers. Furthermore, we have a lightweight approach to character depth compared to LGNPC. We generally prefer to retain vanilla brevity. However, we let our characters and stories shine in quest dialogue. Where a quest was merely  "so-and-so killed my husband, pls kill him thnx," the player is now offered backstory. If you like to read, but you don't want every character to be overly "unique," you will enjoy our mod.
