This may be obvious, but if you are upgrading to 2.1.1b and up or Enhanced 1.2.1a and up from a version before that, please delete the old folder "OEA7.5 Cross." Thank you.
I don't know what I am missing here, I have tried both manual and nexus installs, the mod does not appear in the data files list and doesn't work for me.
It seems whatever option I choose in MCM menu (ui scaling, offsets sliders), cursor is always in thee same place, a little misaligned. This screenshot presents it well:
Idk why is that, maybe bacause of Y offset, which I also changed in MGE XE. But it seems that these offset sliders doesn't change cursor position for me. My camera settings from mge are: X: 27 Y: -120 Z:10
Same situation here. I tried changing the sliders, and no dice. I tried changing the .lua files, to no avail. Maybe I am not aware where I should be messing within the file, I'm a total dummy when messing around config files, perhaps someone with any knowledge on how to change .lua settings could get an idea if the parameters change or not
With MCP 2.5, there was a crosshair offset to the left. In the mod code, I changed cursorBlock.absolute Pos Align X = 0.435 and cursorBlock.absolute Pos Align Y = 0.495 to 0.5 both values. Now the crosshair is exactly in the middle. In the case of the camera from MGE XE, apparently you need to edit the formula below (I didn't check it). You can experiment with the values and achieve the perfect result.
When i was trying to make this mod work, i tried to use MGE XE camera and somehow it didn't work, maybe it's my potato pc, but MCP camera works fine, so as you said i tried changing the values to 0.5 and as todd said "it just works", now i can be the archer that i was born to be (if seomone don't know the .lua files can be open and edited with the notepad)
I found a fix, if you are using morrowind code patch disable "Over-the-shoulder third person camera" on visual category. It make conflict with that mod and crosshair cant be moved. Once disabled the offset settings ingame works again.
Personal setting to mimic skyrim combat position: MGE XE X: -3 Y: -120 Z: 20 3rd-Person Crosshair: X Offset: 0 Z Offset: 4 its slightly lower than 1st person crosshair, that way you can snipe with bow and spells easily. In short range aim up a bit with spells.
What i dont know if its possible is how to make the autohide function work like the one from mge xe auto-hide crosshair. I mean it appearing once i aim at something before starting combat, etc.
I love the mod, but i cant get the second crosshair to disappear in first person mode. The options in the mod dont take it away. I have to turn the mod off altogether to play 1st person with one crosshair. Not a big deal though, its easy to switch on when i feel like playing 3rd person.
if you want a single crosshair in first person, you can always turn the vanilla crosshair off.
EDIT: Haven't played in a while, forgot about this stuff. When you switch persons, if you want to turn the crosshair off in first person and you have the option on, you need to open a menu and then close it. Same for bringing it back.
@opiter09 This option "Turn cursor off in 1st person" is bugged, when I set it to "Yes" (with re-opening menu) it turns off crosshair from both 1st and 3rd person view. When I bring it back I get TWO crosshairs in first person, the one added by the mod is inaccurate, so I cannot use it and turn the vanilla crosshair off. I tried everything but there seem to be no way to turn the crosshair off in 1st person and still keep it in 3rd person.
When using the over the shoulder camera options, the cursor is properly offset in 3rd person mode and accurately points to what you're aiming at, but when switching back to 1st person mode it remains offset to the side instead of centering itself, making it inaccurate when trying to hover over objects.
Opening/closing menus does work to remove the 1st person cursor, but if your playstyle is to constantly swap between 3rd person for combat and 1st person for looting and fine interaction, then having to open a menu each time quickly becomes annoying.
Is there a way to either center the cursor in 1st person mode so it accurately reflects where you're pointing, or to make the show/hide functionality automatic when switching camera views instead of requiring you to bring up a menu?
Now on a serious note; After looking through your code it appears there is now no need to rename a 3rd party crosshair replacer "target.dds" to "target_3rdP.dds" for your mod to work "out-of -the-box" This is a change from previous versions. I'm borderline OCD I guess. Changelogs are important to me.
Would you mind explaining your situation in more detail? I use the third-person camera offset myself, with X = 25, Y = -160, Z = 0, and this mod works for me. But I would be happy to correct any bugs.
What do you mean by "shifted to the left" exactly? I tried your settings and had no issues. The crosshair is placed in the center of the screen, overlapping with the vanilla one in first person.
I have discerned the problem. The center of the screen is not where you hit due to the camera change. This presents two issues I need to somehow resolve: 1. how to detect camera offset. It's fixed for MCP, but I have no idea how to access the MGEXE Values 2. How to get the crosshair to automatically turn off in first person. If shifted, it would look weird. I shall have to look into this. EDIT: the crosshair would also be nearly on top of the player. This would look weird too.
This problem was fixed many versions ago. Download 2.1.1, use the offset entering in the MCM. Unless you are already doing that and still have issues, in which case I'd have to take a look. And don't forget to enter and exit a menu if you switch from first to third person depending on your settings.
The prior versons included an unmodified vanilla texture, which most likely counts as piracy. I have figured out a way to use the texture from inside Morrowind.bsa, so I updated the mod just to be safe.
In the main.lua you will find two consecutive lines that end in 0.65. If you change those values together, you can get different sizes (I'd start with 1.00)

Crosshair shifted to the left
you will see that the arrow will stick to the left of the crosshair

.
I also see the version uploaded says v2.1, but that is the same version number as the previous version.
A changelog would help.
